Exploring Collaboration Between PKK of Jawa Tengah Government and DWP UNDIP: Empowering Women for Greater Impact

UNDIP, Semarang (July 21, 2025) – The Dharma Wanita Persatuan (DWP) of Universitas Diponegoro (UNDIP) welcomed a visit from Hj. Nawal Arafah Yasin, M.Si., Chair of the Family Welfare and Empowerment Movement Team (TP PKK) of Jawa Tengah Government, on Monday, July 21, 2025. The meeting was held in the Rectorate Meeting Room on UNDIP’s Tembalang Campus.

The visit served as the first step in exploring a partnership aimed at strengthening women’s roles within families and communities. The delegation was received directly by Dewi Widayani Suharnomo, S.H., M.Pd., Chair of DWP UNDIP.

This collaboration initiative will cover a wide range of women’s empowerment programs, including family welfare improvement, early childhood education, and entrepreneurial training for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). Both organizations recognize the importance of synergy to achieve broader and more effective outcomes, in line with UNDIP’s tagline: “Noble and Valuable UNDIP.”

“PKK and Dharma Wanita share the same vision of empowering women, and we hope this collaboration becomes a solid foundation for concrete and sustainable joint programs,” said Hj. Nawal Arafah Yasin.

She added that PKK cannot work in isolation, making this partnership a strategic opportunity to join forces with DWP UNDIP in contributing to societal well-being, especially in areas such as family resilience, children’s education, and strengthening women’s roles in the household economy.

Hj. Nawal also introduced seven priority programs of TP PKK Jawa Tengah for the 2025–2030 period:

  1. PANDU CINTA: (Pelayanan Terpadu Pencegahan & Penanganan Perkawinan Anak) /  (Integrated Services for Preventing and Addressing Child Marriage);
  2. KADER PERAK: (Kader Paralegal PKK Penggerak Rumah Pelindungan Perempuan & Anak) / (PKK Paralegal Cadres Promoting Women and Children Protection Homes);
  3. RABU PON: (Gerakan Ibu Menanam Pohon) / (Mother’s Tree Planting Movement);
  4. KIKIS: (Keluarga Indonesia Bebas Kemiskinan Ekstrim) / (Indonesian Families Free from Extreme Poverty);
  5. SPELING: (Spesialis Anak Keliling) / (Mobile Pediatric Specialist Services);
  6. JAM INTAN: (Jam Interaksi Positif Orang tua dengan Anak – Ada 7 Waktu Interaksi Positif dengan Anak) / (Positive Parent-Child Interaction – Featuring Seven Key Interaction Times);
  7. PKK SIGAB: (PKK Siaga & Tanggap Bencana) / (PKK Disaster Preparedness and Response Program).

Dewi Widayani Suharnomo welcomed the initiative, affirming UNDIP’s readiness to support with its expertise and qualified human resources. “UNDIP has a pool of competent professionals ready to contribute to Jawa Tengah Province’s development across various sectors,” she noted.

She further explained that UNDIP will mobilize its Institute for Research and Community Service (LPPM) to provide community engagement and thematic student service programs (KKN Tematik) aligned with the PKK’s seven priority programs.

“One of UNDIP’s current flagship programs is a pilot project addressing stunting, tidal flooding, and desalination for clean water access in Sayung, Demak Regency. We’ve also developed floating toilets to support sanitation and public health in the region,” said Dewi Widayani.
