UNDIP, Jakarta (August 24, 2025) – The Patriot Expedition Team from the undergraduate Animal Sciences study program, Faculty of Animal and Agricultural Sciences, Universitas Diponegoro (UNDIP), is set to be deployed to transmigration areas in Pesisir Barat, Lampung, and Ende, Nusa Tenggara Timur. The team was officially sent off on Saturday, August 23, 2025, by UNDIP Rector Prof. Dr. Suharnomo, S.E., M.Si.
The six-member expedition team is currently attending a briefing session at Balai Kartini in Jakarta from Sunday to Monday on August 24–25, 2025. They will depart for their designated sites on August 26, 2025.
“We are ready to carry out activities by conducting research and mapping economic potential to support Asta Cita in transmigration areas, in line with President Prabowo Subianto’s directive,” said Ir. Daud Samsudewa, S.Pt., M.Si., Ph.D., IPM, one of the team leaders from UNDIP’s Animal Sciences study program.
The briefing program includes ministerial lectures from the Ministry of Agriculture, the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, the Ministry of Higher Education, and the National Food Agency.
The Patriot Expedition is a strategic program initiated by the Ministry of Transmigration, sending young researchers to transmigration areas to assess resources, identify priority commodities, and design regional development strategies. To implement the program, the Ministry has partnered with seven leading universities in Indonesia, including UNDIP.
The initiative is expected to strengthen collaboration among universities, local governments, and communities, while also highlighting the untapped potential of underdeveloped regions.
