UNDIP, Semarang (October 3, 2025) – Following the pre-selection stage held since July 1, 2025, Universitas Diponegoro (UNDIP) takes pride in successfully qualifying 25 delegates (kafilah) to compete in 13 out of 15 competition categories at the 18th National University Qur’an Recitation Competition (MTQMN XVIII) 2025. The UNDIP delegation will depart for Universitas Lambung Mangkurat on Sunday, October 5, 2025, accompanied by the official K.H. Nur Fauzan Ahmad, S.S., M.A. and coach Ustadz Yasir Muna Al Hafidz.
The categories UNDIP will participate in include: Musabaqah Tilawatil Qur’an, Tartil Qur’an, Fahmil Qur’an, Hifdzil Qur’an (10, 20, and 30 Juz), Khottil Qur’an (Decorative Calligraphy), Scientific Writing on the Qur’an, Debate on Qur’anic Content (Arabic and English), Qur’anic Computer Application Design, and Musabaqah of Maulid Recitation of the Prophet Muhammad SAW.
Carrying the theme “MTQMN as a Strengthener of Qur’anic Character among Students for an Impactful Generation toward Golden Indonesia,” the MTQMN 2025 supports Indonesia’s Vision 2045. It underscores the strategic role of university students. This vision aligns with Law No. 20 of 2003, which emphasizes the formation of knowledgeable, faithful, and pious individuals with noble character, strong personality, discipline, and physical and spiritual health through holistic and sustainable education.
During the send-off ceremony, UNDIP Rector Prof. Dr. Suharnomo, S.E., M.Si., expressed his appreciation and encouragement to the participants, emphasizing that their choice to engage in MTQMN is both noble and meaningful.
“There is no need to feel burdened to win. According to sunnatullah, when you have given your best effort with discipline and sincerity, the results should be entrusted to Allah. Train diligently, perform your best with confidence, and don’t let nervousness take over,” he advised.

The Rector was accompanied by Vice Rector I for Academic and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr.rer.nat. Ir. Heru Susanto, S.T., M.M., M.T., extended his best wishes for the competition and encouraged the participants to bring honor to UNDIP at the national level. Prof. Heru also announced that UNDIP provides appreciation and rewards in the form of tuition fee exemptions (UKT) for the following semester to students who achieve first, second, or third place in the competition.
MTQMN serves as an essential platform for student character development, reinforcing values of religiosity, nationalism, and integrity, while nurturing a Qur’anic generation that is intellectually, spiritually, and emotionally balanced.
