UNDIP Holds Mental Health Screening, Health Check, and Blood Donation to Commemorate World Mental Health Day

UNDIP, Semarang (October 10, 2025) – In commemoration of World Mental Health Day 2025, Universitas Diponegoro (UNDIP), through its Occupational Health, Safety, and Environment Technical Implementation Unit (UPT K3L), organized a series of promotive and preventive health activities. This initiative reflects UNDIP’s commitment to promoting prevention efforts and raising awareness about the importance of both mental and physical health within the university and the broader community.

Carrying the theme “Mental Health for All: Unite Our Steps for a Healthy Indonesia,” the event was held on Friday, October 10, 2025. The collaborative program involved Puskesmas Bulusan, the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) of Jawa Tengah Province, the UP3 Team from the Faculty of Psychology, and the UP3 Team from the Faculty of Medicine. Activities took place at the Gade Creative Lounge, 1st Floor, UPT Library and UNDIP Press Building, Tembalang Campus.

The commemoration highlighted that mental health cannot be separated from overall physical well-being. Therefore, UNDIP provided comprehensive health services aimed at offering basic healthcare, facilitating early detection, and enabling direct medical consultations with doctors.

The services included:

  1. Mental Health Screening for UNDIP staff
  2. Free Health Check (Cek Kesehatan Gratis / CKG) covering blood pressure, blood sugar, cholesterol, and uric acid tests
  3. Doctor Consultations
  4. Blood Donation, in collaboration with PMI of Jawa Tengah, as an act of social care

Head of UPT Occupational Health, Safety, and Environment (K3L) UNDIP, Dr. Bina Kurniawan, S.KM., M.Kes., stated that this activity represents a concrete step by the university to foster a health-conscious environment. “We want to show that care for health begins within the institution. Free health checks, mental health screening, and blood donations are not just services—they are expressions of appreciation and concern for all members of the academic community who have dedicated themselves to UNDIP,” he said.

“Early detection and promotive efforts are crucial to maintaining quality of life. Through the momentum of World Mental Health Day, we invite all UNDIP members to continually raise awareness of the importance of maintaining both mental and physical health,” he added.

This initiative aligns with the national movement encouraging people to monitor their health conditions regularly. It supports the National Healthy Living Community Movement Program (Program Nasional Gerakan Masyarakat Hidup Sehat / GERMAS).

Through the observance of World Mental Health Day, Universitas Diponegoro reaffirms its role as an institution committed not only to academic excellence but also to enhancing the quality of life for its entire community. (Public Communication/UNDIP/Riri)
