UNDIP, Banjarmasin (October 21, 2025) – The delegation from Universitas Diponegoro (UNDIP) achieved remarkable success at the 18th National Student Musabaqah Tilawatil Qur’an (MTQMN XVIII) 2025, held at Universitas Lambung Mangkurat (ULM) in Banjarmasin City, Kalimantan Selatan, from October 3–10, 2025.
At this prestigious national event, UNDIP’s representatives proudly brought home two championship titles, namely:
- 2nd Place (Male Category) in Hifdzil Qur’an 20 Juz, won by Abdurohman Fawwaz, a student of the Chemical Engineering Program, Faculty of Engineering.
- 2nd Place (Male Category) in Scientific Writing on the Qur’an (KTIQ), won by Sabit Qolbi and Askanahdi, students from the Faculty of Economics and Business.
This outstanding achievement is clear proof that Universitas Diponegoro remains deeply committed not only to academic and research excellence but also to the spiritual and moral development of its students.
The Rector of UNDIP, Prof. Dr. Suharnomo, S.E., M.Si., expressed his gratitude and pride for the students’ accomplishments.
“Alhamdulillah, this achievement is a source of pride for the entire UNDIP community. We hope that the Qur’anic spirit demonstrated by our students will inspire all members of the academic community to continue achieving and embodying the values of the Qur’an in campus life and in society,” said Prof. Suharnomo.
The UNDIP delegation, comprising 25 students, participated in 13 competition branches at MTQMN XVIII in 2025. They were accompanied by dedicated lecturers and officials who provided intensive guidance from the selection stage up to the final event in Banjarmasin City.
Carrying the theme “MTQMN as a Strengthening Platform for Qur’anic Character among Students toward a Golden Indonesia,” the MTQMN XVIII served not only as a venue for positive competition and fellowship among university students across Indonesia but also as a platform to reinforce religious, intellectual, and social values among the younger generation.
“May this achievement inspire other UNDIP students to continue striving, excelling, and bringing pride to the university through the spirit of the Qur’an,” said Edy Surahmad, S.Pd., M.Si., Director of Student Affairs and Alumni.
