UNDIP has achieved an outstanding milestone on the international stage. According to the QS Asia University Rankings (AUR) 2026, UNDIP recorded a significant rise, securing the 106th position in Asia, a notable jump from its 134th position in 2025. In Southeast Asia, UNDIP also climbed to 25th place, up from 31st the previous year.
This improvement reflects UNDIP’s consistent efforts to enhance its academic reputation, research quality, and social impact on the global stage. The achievement also serves as tangible evidence of the collaboration among all members of the academic community in producing innovations and works that are relevant to society’s needs and contemporary challenges.

Responding to the rise in the QS Asia University Rankings (AUR) 2026, UNDIP Rector Prof. Dr. Suharnomo, S.E., M.Si., expressed his appreciation for the hard work and dedication of all university members.
“This achievement is the result of the collective effort of the entire UNDIP academic community in enhancing the university’s global reputation. UNDIP will continue to strengthen its contributions in research, innovation, and global networking to become a dignified and beneficial university for society, the nation, and the world,” he stated.
Meanwhile, Vice Rector IV for Research, Innovation, Cooperation, and Public Communication, Wijayanto, Ph.D., explained that this success is the fruit of UNDIP’s well-prepared research strategy.
“The rise in ranking reflects the improving academic culture and atmosphere at UNDIP, which involves every member of the academic community. In the future, this culture must be continuously strengthened, as UNDIP holds a great dream of becoming a world-class university that produces innovative research for the future of science and humanity,” he said.
Strategic Role of the Directorate of Reputation, Partnership, and Global Connectivity
Prof. Dr. Ir. Hadiyanto, S.T., M.Sc., IPU, Director of UNDIP’s Directorate of Reputation, Partnership, and Global Connectivity — who leads the university’s ranking strategy — stated that UNDIP’s improvement stems not only from academic activities but also from the expansion of strategic partnerships at both national and international levels. Based on the QS fact file analysis, almost all ranking indicators showed significant improvement compared to last year.
“We continue to strengthen our internationalization programs through the World Class University (WCU) initiative, involving collaborative research, faculty and student exchanges, joint publications, and academic partnerships. These efforts build an ecosystem that enhances UNDIP’s global reputation. This achievement is proof of extraordinary collective work — from faculties, institutions, staff, to students — who all contribute to strengthening the university’s global standing. We will continue improving our performance to reach the top 50 universities in Asia,” he added.
UNDIP’s achievement in the QS World University Rankings 2026 continues its positive momentum, following its recognition at the QS Higher Education Summit Asia 2024 in Macau, where UNDIP received a special award as the Performance Improvement University in Asia — the university with the most significant ranking increase in the region.
This recognition reaffirms that UNDIP is on the right path in enhancing indicators of academic reputation, quality of scientific publications, and socio-economic contributions at both regional and global levels. With these achievements, UNDIP further solidifies its position as a leading world-class research university and a driving force for national progress. (Public Communication/UNDIP/Nurul)
