UNDIP, Jakarta (October 31, 2025) – Universitas Diponegoro (UNDIP) reaffirmed its status as a leading research university when Aqsa Aufa Syauqi S., a Faculty of Medicine student, received the 2025 DPD RI Award for Social and Health Development. Presented by the Regional Representative Council (DPD RI), the award recognizes young individuals who contribute to national progress through innovation, impactful research, and community empowerment.
The prestigious award ceremony was held at the Tribrata Hotel and Convention in Jakarta Selatan on October 28, 2025. DPD RI presented awards in five categories: Social and Health Development, Culture and Tourism, Child Protection and Women’s Empowerment, Creative Economy, and Advocates of Vulnerable Groups.
Aqsa, one of the youngest recipients of the 2025 DPD RI Awards, stands out among many national and regional figures. The committee recognizes him as an innovative individual who combines scientific passion with social concern. As a young medical researcher and founder of the Aqsa Center for Innovation and Research, he actively develops technology-based research to improve public healthcare services. The Directorate General of Intellectual Property (DJKI), Ministry of Law and Human Rights, even granted a patent for his innovation titled “Risk-Based Business Licensing.”

Aqsa’s achievements extend to the international stage. The International Federation of Inventors’ Associations (IFIA) in Geneva, Switzerland, awarded him the honorary title “Inv” (Inventor) for his contribution to global innovation in biomedical and health technology. Following this achievement, the Rector of UNDIP named him an Outstanding International Student.
Since high school, Aqsa has pursued scientific research, including on bamboo. He later founded the “Mister Team” group at UNDIP’s Faculty of Medicine, which has since become a hub for herbal remedies for skin diseases, cancer, and infections. Aqsa is currently enrolled in UNDIP’s MD and Master of Biomedical Science programs. His commitment embodies the Diktisaintek Berdampak (Impactful Science and Technology) program, which unites research, innovation, and community engagement for sustainable solutions.
After receiving the award, Aqsa expressed his gratitude and reflected on the moral significance of his achievement. “Alhamdulillah, I am very grateful and honored to receive the 2025 DPD RI Award. For me, this award is not only a form of appreciation but also a mandate and responsibility to create and contribute to society. DPD RI has provided regional talents with a platform to be recognized, heard, and appreciated. I am convinced that big change always begins with small steps,” he said enthusiastically.
Aqsa’s statement shows he views the award not as the end of his journey but as motivation to keep moving forward. He emphasizes that the spirit of research and service embodies a real contribution that the young generation can offer to the nation. (Public Communication/UNDIP/DHW)
