UNDIP Alumnus and President Director of PT Satu Sahabat Jawanis Inspires Graduates: Sharpen Soft Skills, Adapt, and Build Networks

UNDIP, Semarang (November 5, 2025) – President Director of PT Satu Sahabat Jawanis (SSJ), Nandhika Tama, delivered an inspiring message to Universitas Diponegoro (UNDIP) graduates, encouraging them to continuously sharpen their soft skills, adaptability, and networking abilities as essential tools for entering both the professional and entrepreneurial worlds.

Speaking at UNDIP’s graduation ceremony, Nandhika expressed his gratitude for the invitation and the opportunity to share his experiences with the UNDIP academic community. The event was attended by prominent university leaders, including Chair of the Academic Senate Prof. Ir. Winarni Agustini, M.Sc., Ph.D., UNDIP Rector Prof. Dr. Suharnomo, S.E., M.Si., Chair of the Board of Trustees (MWA) Prof. Muhammad Nasir, M.Si., Akt., Ph.D., Chair of the Board of Professors Prof. Dr. Ir. Purwanto, D.E.A., as well as deans, faculty officials, and the families of the graduates.

In his remarks, Nandhika emphasized that a career path is not always linear with one’s field of study. The ability to adapt, learn continuously, and develop communication skills is crucial in navigating the dynamic world of work and business. “Sometimes we encounter something that doesn’t align with our academic background. That’s why we must have adaptability and a willingness to keep learning,” he said.

Graduates listened attentively as Nandhika shared his personal journey—starting from the bottom in the banking sector, working at a global company that owns Oracle, and eventually being trusted by a multinational firm from the Netherlands to develop a business in the fisheries sector. During the pandemic years of 2019–2020, PT SSJ successfully secured an export contract for smoked fish to the Netherlands worth €55 million, equivalent to more than IDR 1 trillion.

“We gained trust without collateral—and that was all built through soft skills and networking. Our smoked fish product is the only one in Indonesia with an export license to the Netherlands,” he explained.

Through his career story, he encouraged graduates to be bold in seizing opportunities, not merely to follow trends, and to create unique products or solutions. “Be unique. Don’t just follow others. Find something specific, even if the challenges are tough,” he advised.

In closing, he expressed his pride in UNDIP graduates and his confidence in their great potential as alumni of one of the nation’s leading universities. “We look forward to seeing your work in the future. Believe that you can—because you are graduates of one of Indonesia’s best universities,” he concluded.

He expressed hope that UNDIP graduates will make real contributions to society and bring honor to their alma mater at both the national and international levels. (Public Communication/UNDIP/Viny)
