UNDIP, Semarang (November 19, 2025) – Universitas Diponegoro (UNDIP) received an award from the Ministry of Immigration and Corrections for its contributions and collaboration in establishing the Center Immigration Point at UNDIP to improve immigration services. The award was presented during the first anniversary celebration of the Ministry’s Day of Service (Hari Bakti Kemenimipas) on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, at the Punokawan Hall of the Class I Special Immigration Office TPI Semarang.
In his remarks, the Head of the Regional Office of the Directorate General of Corrections of Jawa Tengah, Mardi Santoso, A.Md.IP., S.H., M.Si., conveyed the message of Indonesia’s Minister of Immigration and Corrections, Jenderal Pol. (Purn.) Drs. Agus Andrianto, S.H., M.H., expressed deep appreciation for the support provided by all partners to the Ministry of Immigration and Corrections.
“The Ministry of Immigration and Corrections, in carrying out its functions and roles, cannot stand alone. Collaboration and synergy are essential to achieving broader national development goals,” he stated.
The award to UNDIP was presented directly by Mardi Santoso, A.Md.IP., S.H., M.Si., accompanied by Haryono Agus Setiawan, S.S., M.A., Head of the Class I Special Immigration Office TPI Semarang. UNDIP is recognized as one of the partners that play a key role in supporting Kemenimipas’s mission to deliver public services with tangible impact for the nation and society.
The award reaffirms UNDIP’s position as a higher education institution actively contributing to improving public service quality, particularly in the field of immigration, while strengthening the university’s commitment to facilitating academic mobility at both national and international levels.
With the establishment of the Center Immigration Point, UNDIP becomes one of only two universities in Indonesia to offer official passport services on campus. This facility will begin operating next Monday and is intended to provide convenience for the academic community, educators, administrative staff, international students, and the general public.
UNDIP Rector, Prof. Dr. Suharnomo, S.E., M.Si., expressed gratitude and appreciation for the award.
“We thank the Ministry of Immigration and Corrections for the cooperation established so far. Insha Allah, starting next Monday, the Immigration Point service will be opened at UNDIP,” he said.
The service unit will operate on the 1st floor of the Muladi Dome Building (Exhibition Plaza Blocks O and M) and is equipped with supporting facilities for passport issuance, immigration stay permits, and immigration education.
Beyond immigration services, UNDIP also conducts strategic collaborations with the Directorate General of Corrections through academic units such as the Faculty of Animal and Agricultural Sciences. This cooperation includes land use and educational programs for correctional residents.
“UNDIP students also learn together about land management, gardening activities, cattle and poultry farming, and more. This collaboration allows UNDIP to make tangible contributions in preparing correctional residents to reintegrate into society,” added Prof. Suharnomo.
Through this award, the partnership between UNDIP and Kemenimipas will further strengthen efforts to enhance service quality across various fields, so that every innovative program and collaboration has a tangible impact on the nation and society. (Public Communication/UNDIP/Nabila)
