UNDIP, Semarang (December 18, 2025) – Universitas Diponegoro (UNDIP) has officially established a partnership with Marutetsu Co., Ltd., a company engaged in industrial and technological development based in Miyazaki, Japan. The shared commitment, which focuses on synergizing strengths especially in research and technology, was marked by a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signing ceremony held at the Widya Puraya Building, Universitas Diponegoro, Semarang, on Thursday, December 18, 2025, at 10:00 AM.
The MoU was signed by the Rector of Universitas Diponegoro, Prof. Dr. Suharnomo, S.E., M.Si., and the President and CEO of Marutetsu Co., Ltd., Takahira Hidaka. This collaboration serves as an important milestone in strengthening academic, research, and industrial cooperation between Indonesia and Japan. It also reinforces UNDIP’s efforts to implement the Tri Dharma of Higher Education continuously.
This strategic partnership is designed to foster innovation, enhance research capacity, and support human resource development through synergistic programs between the two institutions. It reflects UNDIP’s commitment to expanding its global network and Marutetsu Co., Ltd.’s dedication to supporting research-based innovation and sustainable development.

In his remarks, UNDIP Rector Prof. Dr. Suharnomo, S.E., M.Si. emphasized that the signing of this MoU is a strategic step for UNDIP in strengthening international cooperation with industry partners at both national and international levels.
“This collaboration opens broad opportunities for our lecturers and students to engage in applied research, technology transfer, and global industrial practice. We believe that this partnership will generate impactful innovations that benefit both parties and the wider community,” he said.
Meanwhile, President and CEO of Marutetsu Co., Ltd., Takahira Hidaka, expressed his appreciation for the collaboration between UNDIP and Marutetsu Co., Ltd. He stated that UNDIP is a strategic partner with outstanding academic achievements, particularly in research and research analysis.
“Marutetsu Co., Ltd. is honored to collaborate with Universitas Diponegoro. Through this MoU, we aim to jointly develop research, human resources, and innovative solutions that can be applied in real industrial contexts,” he said.

The MoU covers several key areas of cooperation, including:
