UNDIP, Semarang (December 22, 2025) – The Dharma Wanita Persatuan (DWP) of Universitas Diponegoro held the 2025 Mother’s Day commemoration through a series of activities titled “Inspiration for the Nation”, held at Muladi Dome, UNDIP Tembalang Campus, on Monday, December 22, 2025. This event served as a space for appreciation and reflection on the strategic role of women—especially mothers—in families, communities, and national development.
Carrying the spirit of empowerment and compassion, the event was attended by the Chairperson of the Central Java Provincial PKK Mobilization Team, Hj. Nawal Nur Arafah, M.S.I.; university leadership; DWP UNDIP board members; spouses of UNDIP rectors from various leadership periods; and the academic community. The presence of multiple generations of UNDIP women symbolized the continuity of values and contributions that have been preserved over time.
In her remarks, the Chairperson of DWP UNDIP, Dewi Widayani Suharnomo, S.H., M.Pd., stated that the Mother’s Day commemoration is a reflective moment to honor the sacrifice and sincerity of mothers who teach unconditional love and instill life values in the nation’s future generations. “With the theme ‘Inspiration for the Nation’, the role of mothers is highly strategic in shaping the character of the nation through education, example, culture, and perseverance, both within families and society, as well as at the national level,” she said.

On this occasion, DWP UNDIP also reaffirmed its commitment through concrete actions, supporting 37 orphaned children and distributing humanitarian aid worth IDR 100 million for disaster response in Aceh and Sumatra through Universitas Diponegoro — demonstrating the noble, impactful, and inspirational role of mothers for the nation.
Echoing this sentiment, Advisor of DWP UNDIP and Rector of Universitas Diponegoro, Prof. Dr. Suharnomo, S.E., M.Si., expressed his gratitude for the successful commemoration of Mother’s Day 2025 as a moment to reflect on and appreciate the role of women, especially mothers, as pillars of families, institutions, and the nation. “Mother’s Day is not merely ceremonial; it is a recognition of women’s real contributions across various spheres of life. We also extend appreciation to DWP UNDIP for its consistency in social, educational, and humanitarian programs, including scholarship support and rapid disaster response in Sumatra,” he said.
According to Prof. Suharnomo, the spirit of togetherness, compassion, and resilience embodied by women is a key strength in realizing a more noble and valuable UNDIP. He concluded his remarks with wishes for good health, unity, and blessings for the entire Universitas Diponegoro community.

As an expression of social concern, DWP UNDIP also symbolically handed over aid consisting of scholarships for orphans, tuition and living cost assistance for 109 UNDIP students affected by disasters in Sumatra, and humanitarian aid worth IDR 100 million distributed through D-DART UNDIP. This series of initiatives underscores DWP UNDIP’s commitment to being present and responsive to humanitarian issues and supporting educational continuity.
The reflective and inspirational atmosphere was further enriched by the DWP UNDIP Choir’s performances of the Mother’s Day Hymn, Nusantara Medley, and the songs UNDIP Bermartabat dan Bermanfaat. On this occasion, UNDIP also presented an award to Dwi Wahyu Trimurti Priyo, the composer of UNDIP Bermartabat dan Bermanfaat, as a form of appreciation for creative contributions inspired by love and pride for the alma mater.
The main event featured a talk show, “Inspiration for the Nation”, with fashion designer and Chairperson of PPUMI Central Java, Tuty Adib, moderated by Dini Ratri. In her presentation, Tuty Adib explained that empowered women are born from the courage to identify and cultivate their potential—no matter how small—through love, perseverance, and sincerity. Drawing from her personal journey as a UNDIP alumna who pursued a path different from her academic background, she encouraged women not to fear changing direction as long as values, knowledge, and work ethic remain their foundation.

According to Tuty Adib, talent combined with passion transforms obstacles into creative challenges, while family support, continuous learning, community networks, and the habit of sharing broaden the impact of one’s work. “From my experience mentoring MSMEs and creative industries rooted in Indonesian textiles, when women are given space and trust, they not only build businesses but also uplift their families, strengthen the local economy, and deliver real inspiration to society,” she emphasized. A video of her fashion products was also shown as a concrete illustration of women’s contributions to the creative economy sector.
The message of women’s empowerment was also conveyed visually through a fashion show featuring Tuty Adib’s designs, modeled by DWP UNDIP members. This fashion show not only showcased aesthetics but also highlighted cultural narratives, local wisdom, and the confidence of Indonesian women, all presented through modern, elegant designs.
Through this event, DWP UNDIP hopes that Mother’s Day will not only be an annual agenda but also a momentum to strengthen solidarity, foster social awareness, and inspire Indonesian women to continue contributing to the nation through their various strategic roles.
