UNDIP, Semarang (December 31, 2025) – The year 2025 marked a significant milestone for Universitas Diponegoro, not only as a world-class research university but also as an institution delivering tangible impact for society.
Throughout 2025, UNDIP recorded a wide range of strategic achievements across academic excellence, research and innovation, governance, sustainability, and community service—attained by the institution, lecturers, and students alike.
The following is a record of UNDIP’s achievements documented on undip.ac.id and other internal UNDIP media. While not all student and faculty achievements are listed—some are published on faculty websites—this compilation is expected to motivate the UNDIP academic community further to continue excelling in 2026.
Early Years: Academic Recognition and International Achievements
UNDIP opened 2025 with notable accomplishments. On January 8, Vocational School students in Information and Public Relations secured Second Place in the National Essay Competition. The following day, January 9, the Master’s Program in Nutrition Science, Faculty of Medicine UNDIP, was recognized as the most productive nationally, ranking at the top of the SINTA national score. UNDIP’s academic reputation was further strengthened on January 30, achieving 4th place nationally in the Webometrics ranking and 2nd place in Indonesia in the field of Nutrition and Food Science according to EduRank.
In February, Antawirya Team brought international recognition by winning First Place at the Shell Eco Marathon 2025 in Qatar on February 14. Medical students of the Anesthesiology Residency Program dominated awards at the National Anesthesiology Symposium on February 10. In March, UNDIP’s Faculty of Economics and Business Investment Gallery was named the best nationally by the Indonesia Stock Exchange on March 1, followed by global recognition on March 20, when three UNDIP disciplines entered the Top 500 of the QS World University Rankings by Subject.
Second Quarter: Competition Dominance and Global Ranking Leap
In April, Vocational School students won Double Gold Medals at the international JISF competition on April 21, and the PSHT Student Activity Unit secured 3rd Overall Champion at the National Pencak Silat Championship on April 20. In May, environmental innovations by Vocational School students earned three national awards. In global research recognition, on May 24, Dr. Choirul Anam (FSM) was listed among the world’s 100 most influential researchers in CT Scan studies. UNDIP also recorded a historic achievement by securing 4th place nationally in the January 2025 Webometrics ranking—the highest since first participating.
A significant milestone occurred in June. On June 3, UNDIP entered the Top 10 Best National Universities according to UNS Jawametrik, reinforcing its integration of cultural values and science as its identity. On June 19, UNDIP recorded a dramatic leap in the QS World University Rankings 2026, rising 101 positions to rank 624 globally.
Mid-Year: Strengthening Research and Innovation Culture
July demonstrated UNDIP’s strong research culture. On July 15, UNDIP ranked 5th nationally in PKM Belmawa Dikti funding, with 39 funded proposals. On July 24, UNDIP achieved 5th place globally in the Emerald Publishing High Usage Award. On July 25, UNDIP also received the “Accelerated Development Catalyst Campus” award.
Continued achievements marked August. Team Fezicrops won a Gold Medal at WYIE Malaysia on August 7, while the Engineering Student Choir triumphed at the Taipei International Choral Competition on August 16. Institutionally, UNDIP was awarded the title Entrepreneurial Marketing Campus for IMPACT 2025 on August 6.
Final Quarter: Student Achievement Harvest and Sustainability Recognition
In September, eight UNDIP scientists were listed among the “World’s Top 2% Scientists” on September 22. On September 26, UNDIP’s Directorate of Media Networking, Community, and Public Communication received the Bronze Winner award in the Government Public Relations Program category (State University subcategory) at the 7th Anugerah Humas Indonesia (AHI) 2025. Student achievements continued in October, with Antawirya Team winning First Place at KMHE 2025 on October 28, and UNDIP securing First Place in both Undergraduate and Diploma categories of the National Pilmapres Competition on the same date. UNDIP was also ranked 2nd nationally as a Patent Applicant in October, reflecting its commitment to innovation for sustainable development.
In November, UNDIP placed second in the Best University Social Media category at the Anugerah Media Humas (AMH) 2025, held by the Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs on November 12. UNDIP also made history by debuting at 144th place globally in the THE Interdisciplinary Science Rankings on November 21. At the 38th National Student Creativity Program (PIMNAS) on November 28, UNDIP rose to 4th place nationally with a total of 14 medals.
Closing the year in December, UNDIP’s Student Choir (Diponegoro University Choir) won the Grand Prix Champion at the Macau International Choir Competition on December 3. On December 7, three UNDIP student teams won national awards at Abdidaya Ormawa 2025 at Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang. On December 16, UNDIP ranked 2nd nationally in the UI GreenMetric ranking, recognizing its environmental commitment. The year concluded with UNDIP receiving Gold and Bronze Winner awards at Anugerah Diktisaintek 2025 on December 19, as well as the Science and Technology Award from ITSF for an UNDIP Engineering Professor.
UNDIP’s institutional performance in optimizing public services and strategic synergy with the government was also nationally recognized through the awarding of the Mitra Bhakti Husada 2025 by the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia.
UNDIP also pioneered public services by establishing a Center for Immigration Point on campus, strengthening national and international academic mobility—demonstrating that the values of ‘Noble and Valuable UNDIP’ are more than just a slogan.
Looking Toward 2026 with Optimism
The UNDIP Achievement Kaleidoscope 2025 conveys a clear message: achievement results from consistency, collaboration, and the courage to innovate continuously. The accomplishments throughout the year provide a strong foundation for UNDIP to move forward, reinforcing its role as a leading research university recognized not only for its stature but also for its societal impact.
