UNDIP, Semarang (19/2) – The achievements of alumni from the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Diponegoro, once again demonstrate tangible contributions to Indonesia’s national health sector. One such figure is dr. Agus Ujianto, M.Si.Med., Sp.B., an alumnus of the Specialist Medical Education Program (PPDS) in Surgery at the Faculty of Medicine UNDIP, who currently serves as the President Director of RSI Sultan Agung Semarang.

With a strong clinical education and professional values developed during his studies at the Faculty of Medicine UNDIP, dr. Agus has grown not only as a surgeon but also as a hospital leader with a managerial and innovative vision.

In his role as president director, dr. Agus is committed to developing RSI Sultan Agung as a leading hospital that integrates high-quality medical services, professional governance, and ethical values. The principles of firm, measurable, and responsible decision-making—learned during his specialist education—serve as the foundation of his leadership.

According to him, the PPDS education at the Faculty of Medicine UNDIP not only builds surgical technical competence but also develops critical thinking skills, mental resilience, and the courage to make decisions in complex clinical and managerial situations.

Managerial and Organizational Track Record

Before leading RSI Sultan Agung, dr. Agus had extensive experience in hospital management. He previously served as Director of RSI Banjarnegara, where he successfully introduced various service innovations, including strengthening healthcare service systems amid the limitations and challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic.

He is also active in professional organizations and networks, including serving as Chairman of the Alumni Association of Sultan Agung Islamic University (IKA Unissula) and as founder and initiator of the Indonesian Integrated Digital Doctors Association (PREDIGTI). Through these roles, dr. Agus promotes digital transformation in healthcare and the adoption of technology in medical services in Indonesia.

Innovation and Social Commitment

As a surgeon and UNDIP graduate, dr. Agus is known for his strong concern for public access to healthcare services, particularly in regional areas. He actively participates in various social activities and community development initiatives to improve the quality of life for patients with physical limitations.

His interest in advancing modern medical science has also led him to engage in research and innovation, including strengthening clinical research and developing cell-based biological therapies, while adhering to scientific principles and medical ethics.

dr. Agus continues to study cell biology and cell therapy through international communities such as the International Society of Stem Cell Application (ISSCA) and the International Society for Stem Cell Research (ISSCR). As a result, he established the Autohemotherapy and Cell Unit Research Everlasting community.

In addition, he has authored books and proposed policy recommendations regarding the legal recognition of autologous stem cell therapy as part of surgical expertise. He continues to advocate for minimal manipulation procedures with high standards to promote personalized and precision medicine in the future, particularly for treating degenerative diseases and anti-aging therapies.
