Preserving Culture, UNDIP Public Administration Student Wins Puteri Lokantara 2026 Title

UNDIP, Semarang (16/3) – Another proud achievement has been made by a student of Universitas Diponegoro (UNDIP) at the national level through a cultural ambassador competition. Cinta Yemima Purna Putri, a student of the Undergraduate Public Administration Program of the 2025 batch, was crowned Puteri Lokantara 2026 in a competition organized by the Loka Nuswantara Organization.

The prestigious competition began with an audition stage held on February 12–16, 2026, at Hotel Amaris. After going through various selection processes and a quarantine period, the Grand Final and coronation night were successfully held at Semarang City Hall.

As a student enrolled in the International Undergraduate Program (IUP), Cinta demonstrated strong dedication to preserving Indonesian culture and promoting tourism at the national level.

“The achievement I gained is not merely the final result, but the outcome of consistency, discipline, and the courage to try; through that process, I have grown,” she said.

Cinta’s journey in competitions and public speaking began during her high school years, when she served as Student Council President (OSIS Chair) in 2023. Her interest in culture and tourism strengthened after she became the 2nd Runner-Up of Dara Pariwisata Kabupaten Lamandau and won several speech and English competitions. For her, every stage—from selection to the grand final—was a valuable opportunity to meet finalists from various provinces who share the same passion for promoting Indonesia’s uniqueness.

Regarding cultural preservation in the modern era, Cinta emphasized the importance of digitalization strategies to reach younger generations. She believes that social media platforms such as TikTok and Instagram should be optimized to present traditional dances, cultural attire, and historical narratives through creative, informative visual content. “Through creative presentation aligned with digital trends, younger generations will be more interested in learning about and promoting Indonesian culture,” she explained.

During her academic journey at UNDIP, Cinta realized that participating in various achievement-oriented activities helped her develop her time management and teamwork skills. She also highlighted that a supportive campus environment and guidance from lecturers played a crucial role in her success at the national level.

In closing, Cinta encouraged fellow students to recognize their potential and take the first step confidently. She invited the entire academic community to maintain integrity, continuously develop their capabilities, and broaden their perspectives to compete globally without losing national identity and character. This spirit aligns with UNDIP’s commitment to producing excellent, competitive graduates, in line with its vision of becoming a noble, valuable university. (Public Communication/UNDIP/Riri)
