UNDIP, Semarang (19/3) – The Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Diponegoro (FEB UNDIP), once again takes pride in the achievements of one of its distinguished alumni, Prof. Mohamad Nasir, Ak., M.Si., Ph.D. An academic and statesman, his career journey from academia to national policymaking reflects the core values of Universitas Diponegoro—intellectualism, integrity, and dedication—which are deeply embedded in every role he has undertaken, whether as an educator, academic leader, or government official.
Born in Ngawi, Central Java, on June 27, 1960, Prof. Mohamad Nasir completed his undergraduate studies at the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Diponegoro. His academic passion led him to pursue a master’s degree at Universitas Gadjah Mada and a doctoral degree at Universiti Sains Malaysia. He began his academic career at his alma mater as a lecturer at FEB UNDIP, before being entrusted with strategic leadership roles as Dean of FEB UNDIP and later as Rector of Universitas Diponegoro.
His service extended beyond academia. In 2014, he was appointed by the President of the Republic of Indonesia as Minister of Research, Technology, and Higher Education in the Working Cabinet for the 2014–2019 period. In this role, he actively contributed to strengthening the governance of higher education and national research, fostering synergy between universities, industry, and government, and accelerating the development of research-based innovation in Indonesia.
As a Professor in Behavioral Accounting and Management Accounting at FEB UNDIP, Prof. Mohamad Nasir continues to advance knowledge and improve the quality of higher education. His journey serves as an inspiration to the academic community, demonstrating that true academic achievement is not only measured by personal accomplishments but also by meaningful contributions to society and the nation.
His story affirms that FEB UNDIP has produced alumni capable of taking on strategic roles in national development.
