UNDIP, Semarang (25/6) – Universitas Diponegoro (UNDIP) once again demonstrated its commitment to supporting students’ and alumni’s career readiness by organizing the UNDIP Grand Career Exhibition (UGCE) #2 2026. Organized by the Directorate of Student Affairs and Alumni, through the UNDIP Student Career Development Office, the event was officially opened on Wednesday (June 24) in Ballroom 2 of the Muladi Dome Building at Universitas Diponegoro.
Carrying the theme “Unlock Your Future Career: Connect with Industry, Learn from Experts, Succeed with Confidence,” UGCE #2 2026 was held over two days, from June 24–25, 2026, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The event began with a report by Lala Irviana, S.Sos., S.E., M.M., M.Psi., Ph.D., Head of the Student Career Development Office and Chair of the Organizing Committee. In her remarks, she expressed appreciation to all parties who contributed to the event’s success.
“We should all take pride in being here today because the Directorate of Student Affairs and Alumni of Universitas Diponegoro, through the Student Career Development Office, has organized this event specifically for UNDIP students and alumni,” she stated.
In his speech, the Head of the Central Java Provincial Manpower and Transmigration Office, Ahmad Aziz, S.E., M.Si., emphasized that today’s employment challenges are not only about job availability but also about the alignment between graduates’ competencies and industry needs. He noted that Indonesia’s demographic bonus, dominated by younger generations, should be leveraged to improve the quality of human resources through collaboration among universities, industry, and government.
“We are currently experiencing a demographic bonus, with more than 53 percent of the population consisting of Millennials and Generation Z. This phenomenon represents both a golden opportunity and a major challenge that must be addressed through enhanced competencies and workforce readiness,” he explained.
The official opening of the event was delivered by the Rector of Universitas Diponegoro, Prof. Dr. Suharnomo, S.E., M.Si., who emphasized that career development is determined not only by academic competence but also by mental resilience, adaptability, and a willingness to learn and seize opportunities continuously. He encouraged students to make the most of UGCE #2 2026 as a platform to build professional networks and prepare for global competition.
“Today, we have UGCE and various career development programs. However, in the end, what truly matters is the mentality to become a champion. Never lose hope and never underestimate yourself. Failure is part of the journey toward success,” said the Rector.
The event continued with an Alumni Sharing Session featuring three distinguished speakers: Gandy Setiawan, S.E., M.P.P. (Development Economics, Class of 1991), Director of Program and Performance Monitoring at the National Committee for Islamic Economy and Finance (KNEKS) Secretariat, Ministry of Finance; Supriyanto, S.T., M.M. (Electrical Engineering, Class of 1992), Head of the Digital Division at PT Pegadaian; and Syanaz Nadya Winanto Putri, S.H., M.Sc. (Law, Class of 1995), Founder and Owner of Rorokenes Indonesia.
UGCE #2 2026 featured a wide range of activities designed to connect students and alumni with industry partners. These included a job fair, company presentations, walk-in interviews, alumni sharing sessions, and career counseling services provided by professional counselors from UNDIP’s Faculty of Psychology.
In addition to gaining information about employment opportunities and career development, participants could consult directly with professional counselors to explore their interests, potential, and suitable career paths. The career counseling service was designed to help students and alumni improve their workforce readiness, develop personal development strategies, and make more informed career decisions.
More than 70 companies and institutions participated in the exhibition, representing sectors such as banking, national private enterprises, state-owned enterprises (SOEs), certification bodies, and scholarship providers.
Through the implementation of UGCE #2 2026, Universitas Diponegoro aims to strengthen collaboration between higher education institutions and industry while creating broader opportunities for students and alumni to advance their careers and enhance their competitiveness in the job market.
