UNDIP CHAIRMAN BOARD OF TRUSTEES, PROF. MOHAMADNASIR, LEADS PTNBH MWA FORUM TO FORMULATESUSTAINABLE GOVERNANCE DIRECTION

UNDIP, Semarang – Universitas Diponegoro (UNDIP) held the Silaturahmi and Working Meeting of the Board of Trustees Forum (Majelis Wali Amanat – MWA) for Legal Entity State Universities (PTNBH) at Tentrem Hotel, Semarang. The event brought together representatives from 24 PTNBH institutions across Indonesia and was chaired by Prof. Mohamad Nasir, M.Si., Akt., Ph.D., UNDIP Board of Trustees Chairman and newly appointed Chair of the PTNBH MWA Forum for the 2025–2026 term.

The forum served as a platform to evaluate PTNBH strategic progress and shape sustainable, integrity-driven governance policies. In his address, Prof. Nasir emphasized the urgency of addressing human resource limitations, especially as many professors near retirement with no new civil servant recruitment plans. He also stressed the need to optimize idle university assets and strengthen endowment fund management.

The outgoing forum chair, Prof. Dr. Ir. Mohammad Nuh, DEA, highlighted education’s role in fostering innovation and societal impact, aligning with the Ministry of Education’s mission. Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology Prof. Brian Yuliarto, Ph.D., reinforced the importance of PTNBH in national development, quoting President Prabowo: “Only nations that master science and technology will become prosperous.”

Other key figures included Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian, who encouraged local government collaboration, Minister of Health Budi Gunadi Sadikin, who promoted alumni-driven funding strategies, and Deputy Minister of Finance Anggito Abimanyu, who called for greater PTNBH autonomy to address complex education financing.

The event concluded with a leadership handover from Prof. Mohammad Nuh (ITS) to Prof. Mohamad Nasir (UNDIP), marking a continued commitment to advancing higher education governance in Indonesia.
