The Faculty of Engineering Undip received good news lately. Two of its Study Programs have now received the title of Excellence from LAM Teknik. The two study programs are the Mechanical Engineering Doctoral Study Program and the Civil Engineering Master Study Program. The two study programs received the title of Excellence after getting the title B in the previous period. This accreditation achievement is quite a proud achievement for the Faculty of Engineering, considering that the mission of the Faculty of Engineering to become a leading research campus in Indonesia can only be achieved by providing quality education with superior standards.
The Engineering Independent Accreditation Institute (LAM Teknik) itself is an independent accreditation institution run by the Indonesian Engineers Association (PII) and is tasked with carrying out the accreditation process for engineering study programs throughout Indonesia. In this accreditation, the Mechanical Engineering Doctoral Study Program managed to get a score of 371, while the Civil Engineering Master Study Program managed to get a score of 375. With this score achievement, the two study programs are entitled to the title of Excellence which is valid until April 20, 2028.
Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Prof. Ir. M. Agung Wibowo, said he was proud of the achievement of this accreditation. For him, the success of the Faculty of Engineering in maintaining good governance and management of strong and reliable human resources is the main key to the success of the two study programs in achieving the title of Excellence. “For us, governance is the backbone for our quality assurance. Good governance is the core, and behind it are strong and reliable human resources,” he said regarding this success.
He hopes that this achievement can improve the implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education in the Faculty of Engineering so that it can be even better. In addition, improved governance as shown by the achievement of various national and international standard certifications such as national and international accreditation and ISO certification can be a trigger for each department and unit working under the Faculty of Engineering. The efforts are carried out in order to improve and maintain this excellent quality.
