UNDIP Prepares 90 PKM Teams for the 36th PIMNAS

In preparation for uploading the Progress Report and Progress Assessment of PKM Implementation (PKP2), Diponegoro University (Undip), through the Academic and Student Affairs Bureau, has held a Coaching Clinic for 90 PKM (Student Creativity Program) Teams in 8 Fields that Qualified for the 2023 Ministry of Education and Culture Funding. The event was held on Tuesday, October 3, 2023, at 07.00 WIB at the Grand Rama Shinta Hall, Patra Hotel Semarang.

Vice Rector I for Academic and Student Affairs, the Director for Academic Study and Alumni Affairs, the Deputy Director for Student and Alumni Affairs, the Deputy Head of Research for LPPM Undip, the Head of the Academic and Student Affairs Bureau, Supervisors and Assistant Lecturers, as well as 374 students who were members of 90 Undip PKM Teams, were attended this event.

Vice Rector I for Academic and Student Affairs, Prof. Faisal, S.E., M.Si., Ph.D., officially opened the event. In his speech, Prof. Faisal expressed his appreciation to students for being committed to actively participating in PKM activities. “I really appreciate all parties who have fought hard to be able to pass 90 Undip PKM teams in 2023,” said Prof Faisal.

Prof. Faisal said that this coaching clinic activity was one of the processes to welcome the 36th National Student Science Week (PIMNAS). “The process we have gone through shows that this program has gone extraordinary. It requires extraordinary efforts from all parties, such as developing their knowledge, expertise, coordination, and collaboration to face the 36th PIMNAS. “I am moved and proud. This achievement is one of the most beautiful moments during my tenure as Vice Rector I for Academic and Student Affairs,” he said.

With this coaching clinic activity, it is hoped that students’ self-confidence will increase so that when conveying ideas and suggestions, they can do so optimally. “No matter how good an idea we have, without being able to convey it confidently, the results will be less than optimal. “Then, if there are deficiencies in each team, they can be corrected immediately,” added Prof. Faisal.

Meanwhile, Deputy Director for Student and Alumni Affairs, Dr. Nuswantoro Dwiwarno, S.H., M.H. reported this coaching clinic activity is a series of preparations for PKM activities to upload the Progress Report on October 7-13 and the PKM Implementation Progress Assessment (PKP2) on October 16-28. “The assessment of PKM progress will be carried out externally by the Directorate of Learning and Student Affairs (Belmawa),” said Nuswantoro.

“We gather and unite steps, both from supervisors and lecturers as well as the students, to prepare documents and other administrative equipment in preparation for us to advance to the 36th PIMNAS event in Bandung,” he added.

At this stage, Undip succeeded in passing 90 PKM Teams, consisting of 374 students and accompanied by 58 supervisors and 19 lecturers. The 90 PKM teams from Undip that passed the Ministry of Education and Culture’s funding consisted of 9 teams of PKM Entrepreneurship (PKM-K), 11 teams of PKM Karsa Cipta (PKM-KC), 10 teams of PKM Community Service (PKM-PM); 47 teams of PKM Exact Research (PKM-RE), 9 teams of PKM Social Humanities Research (PKM-RSH); and 4 teams of PKM Video Constructive Ideas (PKM-VGK).

The event then continued with the presentation of the first material regarding Improving the Quality of Scientific Methods in the Student Creativity Program and the second material regarding the State of the Art in the Student Creativity Program.

PIMNAS is an official annual activity of the National Achievement Center of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology (Kemendikbudristek) in the field of reasoning to compete in national-level student scientific work. The 36th PIMNAS will be held at Padjadjaran University, Bandung. PIMNAS is a forum for scientific meetings and communication of student creative products, attended by students or Student Creativity Program (PKM) teams.
