UPT Library and Undip Press once again held a Webinar Series by inviting one of the lecturers from the Department of Informatics, Faculty of Science and Mathematics, Dr. Indra Waspada, S.T., MTI, as the speaker. Webinar Series #50 with the theme “Utilizing AI for Exploring Scientific Literature in Supporting Research” was conducted via Zoom meeting on Tuesday, February 6, 2024, and was attended by more than 900 participants. This webinar aimed to educate academics on the use of AI in research.
The webinar began with remarks from the Vice Rector for Communication and Business Affairs, Prof. Budi Setiyono, S.Sos., M.Pol.Admin., Ph.D. In his speech, he conveyed that AI has great potential in academic activities, especially in research. AI can facilitate researchers’ search for references.
The speaker for this webinar, Dr. Indra Waspada, S.T., MTI, presented several materials regarding the utilization of AI, including the background in searching scientific literature, the use of AI for exploring scientific literature in supporting research, SLR (Systematic Literature Review) stages, and Prompt Engineering. In one of his materials, Dr. Indra Waspada, S.T., MTI, provided tips and tricks for Prompt Engineering and experimented with keyword construction (Boolean Query).
The webinar concluded with a question-and-answer session. The webinar participants enthusiastically asked the speaker questions both directly and in writing. This Q&A session was conducted actively and orderly. Dr. Indra Waspada, S.T., MTI, concluded his presentation by emphasizing that the literature search process determines the quality of literature reviews, and AI systems can assist in the literature search process.
