The inbound students of the Pertukaran Mahasiswa Merdeka (PMM) 4 / Independent Student Exchange Program at Diponegoro University (UNDIP) were officially sent off on June 20, 2024, at Prof. Soedarto, S.H. Building on the UNDIP Tembalang campus. This event was held to release the inbound students who had completed one semester at UNDIP, allowing them to return to their respective universities and apply the knowledge they had gained. The sending-off ceremony was attended by the Vice Rector for Academic and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr.rer.nat. Heru Susanto, S.T., M.M., M.T.
The PMM 4 activities were based on the Nusantara module and focused on the region and culture of Central Java. The Nusantara module is a series of activities designed to create a comprehensive understanding of diversity, inspiration, reflection, and social contribution, facilitated through sequential and repeated guidance.
Prof. Dr.rer.nat. Heru Susanto, S.T., M.M., M.T., Vice Rector for Academic and Student Affairs, stated that UNDIP strives to provide the best learning experiences, continually improving over time. He reminded the students to take the positive aspects of their experience at UNDIP and leave behind any negative ones. “Although it has only been six months, we consider the 48 PMM 4 participants as part of the extended UNDIP family,” Prof. Heru said. He also urged the students to uphold the good name of not only their original alma mater but also UNDIP after completing the PMM program.
Dr. Aris Ismanto, S.Si., M.Si, the PIC of PMM 4, expressed his pride and gratitude to all PMM 4 students. In his report, he mentioned that 50 students were accepted into the student exchange program, and 48 continued with the program.
“The hope is that students can enjoy and experience a different atmosphere through the Nusantara module,” he added. Personally, Aris bid farewell to the inbound students who would be returning on June 25, 2024.
A brief impression was also shared by the PMM 4 leader, Muhammad Bijak R. Astapradja. He expressed his gratitude to the PIC and the PMM 4 coordinators. He also conveyed his appreciation for the opportunity to study at one of the best universities in Indonesia. According to him, the dynamic experience of PMM 4 was an integral part of his learning journey.
The event concluded with a group photo of the guests and PMM 4 students, followed by a cultural festival themed “Jejak Langkah Kita” / Our Footsteps by the PMM 4 students. Various performances were presented, including a fashion show, special performances, and traditional dances from the PMM 4 students’ home regions. (Sahila-Public Relations)
