UNDIP Facilitates Researchers for Research Development

On Thursday, August 15, 2024, the Directorate of Innovation and Industrial Collaboration, together with the Bureau of Innovation and Collaboration, successfully held a Workshop on the Pathway to Commercializing Health Research Results at Aruss Hotel, Semarang City. In addition to the workshop, a ceremonial signing of cooperation agreements was conducted, including the signing of Cooperation Agreement and MoUs between UNDIP and BioFarma, Bartec, and Quarta Medika.

The workshop featured five speakers and aimed to thoroughly discuss procedures, key considerations, and the experiences of other researchers in commercializing their research products. In her opening remarks, drh. Dian Wahyu Harjanti, Ph.D., explained that the goal of the workshop was to facilitate UNDIP researchers in bringing their research products to market. The event not only covered the product development process but also detailed how to make research products ready for public distribution. Various speakers were invited to explain and clarify the processes of marketing research products.

Wijayanto, S.IP., M.Si., Ph.D., Vice Rector IV of Diponegoro University, also delivered a speech emphasizing the importance of research commercialization, not just for the researchers but also for society and Indonesia as a whole. He highlighted that research outcomes can address various societal issues, demonstrating Indonesia’s significant advancements in science and technology. These advancements align with the core purpose of knowledge, which is to support human life today.

To address these topics, speakers from various sectors were present, including Roy Himawan, S.Farm., Apt., M.K.M., Director of Pharmaceutical and Medical Device Resilience at the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia; Dr. Randy H. Teguh, M.M., Chairman of the Association for the Development of Indonesian Medical Devices; Hidayat Setiadji, S.Si., M.Si., Vice President of Corporate & Institutional Relationship & Transformation of Healthcare Services; Lintang Purba Jaya, S.Farm, Apt., M.Si., Head of the Semarang Regional Food and Drug Monitoring Agency; and Dr. Rifky Ismail, S.T., M.T., a medical device researcher from Diponegoro University.

The speakers covered various topics, such as regulations, stages of product development to marketing, required standards, procedures for herbal medicines, and experiences in the commercialization of health research products.
