Conducting A Visit to UNDIP, BSI Captures the Best Talents on Campus Through BSI Rock

Semarang, September 6, 2024 – As part of its ongoing efforts to advance Islamic banking in Indonesia, PT Bank Syariah Indonesia Tbk (BSI) continues to seek top talent through the BSI ROCK (Recruitment On Campus for Knowledge) program, which this time took place at Universitas Diponegoro (UNDIP), Semarang, Jawa Tengah.

On this occasion, BSI Deputy CEO Bob Tyasika Ananta stated that the program involves visiting top universities to promote Islamic financial literacy and recruit talent. Through this program, BSI offers the BSI Scholarship, BiBiT (Structured Internship), and the Officer Development Program (ODP).

UNDIP is the second campus visited by BSI for BSI ROCK, following Institut Pertanian Bogor (IPB). In the future, BSI will also visit other universities, including Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB), Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR), Institut Teknologi 10 November (ITS), Universitas Padjadjaran (UNPAD), and the Universitas Indonesia (UI).

Bob further explained that BSI ROCK is part of BSI’s mission to become a preferred company and a source of pride for Indonesia’s top talents. Through BSI ROCK, the company strengthens its commitment to creating leading programs to attract the best candidates to be future leaders of Bank Syariah Indonesia.

“The goal of this event is to enhance students’ understanding of Islamic finance and to recruit future leader talents from Indonesia’s top universities through the BSI Scholarship, BiBiT, and ODP programs,” Bob said.

To recruit the best talent for developing Islamic banking in Indonesia, since its inception in 2021, the company has completed four ODP cohorts, consisting of 18 classes and graduating 151 participants in the third batch in 2023.

In the future, after the BSI ROCK program concludes, the company will continue to recruit new ODP candidates from various leading universities in Indonesia. Talent recruitment began in mid-August and will close at the end of September 2024.

“Through BSI ROCK, we aim to become the workplace of choice for Indonesia’s top talent, who will become the next leaders of BSI, Indonesia’s largest Islamic bank with a global reputation,” he said.

So far, several BSI senior managers have gone on to become leaders in other Islamic banks. The leadership proves that the education and experience gained while working at BSI, the most prominent Islamic bank, serve as a role model for other Islamic banks. According to Bob, creating top talent in Islamic banking is essential to grow the business faster than the industry’s growth rate.

Therefore, one of BSI’s goals for regenerating and empowering all available resources is to increase market share. Bob emphasized that improving the quality of human resources is a critical focus in Islamic banking to strengthen the business further. Through this program, BSI not only aims to create new job opportunities but also to prepare future leaders for Islamic banks.

“Productive and capable human resources must support the challenge ahead to increase market share. We must continually work to improve productivity over time, and our leaders must be able to take BSI from good to great — not just good, but the best in the industry,” said Bob.

Bob added that continuous cadre development, both through internal promotions and by recruiting new university graduates, is crucial for maintaining the company’s growth and development in the future.

“These young professionals are expected to bring new energy and enthusiasm, as well as foster creativity and innovation for the advancement of BSI,” he concluded.
