UNDIP, Semarang (20/1) – The Technical Service Unit for Occupational Safety, Health, and Environment (UPT K3L) of Universitas Diponegoro (UNDIP) received an official visit from the Undergraduate Program in Public Health, Universitas Muhammadiyah Semarang (UNIMUS), on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at 09:00 a.m., at the Integrated Waste Processing Facility (TPST) of UNDIP. The visit aimed to conduct a comparative study on risk management and environmental management innovations in higher education institutions.
The activities began with representatives from Universitas Muhammadiyah Semarang having the opportunity to directly observe waste management innovation equipment developed by UNDIP, followed by a tour of the TPST facilities to gain a comprehensive understanding of the technical workflow of waste processing.
The event was opened with a Safety Induction presentation at the Undip Circular Campus Studio (UCCS) as a standard safety procedure. This session was followed by an opening by the master of ceremonies and a welcome address from the Vice Rector for Planning, Finance, Assets, Business, and Household Affairs of Universitas Diponegoro, Dr. Warsito Kawedar, S.E., M.Si., Akt. In his remarks, he emphasized the importance of this collaboration.
“Cooperation among educational institutions in the field of occupational safety and health is a foundation for creating a safe, productive, and sustainable academic environment. We hope this visit will serve as a forum for meaningful knowledge exchange for both parties,” he stated.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Undergraduate Program in Public Health at UNIMUS, Mifbakhuddin, S.K.M., M.Kes., expressed his appreciation in his response.
“We are here at Universitas Diponegoro to learn and to directly observe the implementation of waste management and the K3L system that has been recognized for its excellence, in order to strengthen operational standards and the curriculum at Universitas Muhammadiyah Semarang,” he said.
As the main speaker, the Head of UPT K3L UNDIP, Dr. Bina Kurniawan, S.K.M., M.Kes., provided an in-depth explanation of the unit’s profile and work programs. “UPT K3L UNDIP is committed to becoming a reference in campus risk management, where personnel awareness is the key to the success of our programs in maintaining the sustainability of the university environment,” Dr. Bina Kurniawan concluded.
This activity is expected not only to serve as a networking opportunity but also to act as a catalyst for sustainable collaboration in the development of research and occupational safety policies in academic settings. Through the exchange of technical and managerial insights, both institutions agreed to continue enhancing safety and workplace comfort standards to support their educational visions.
