UNDIP, Semarang (23/1) – The Technical Service Unit for Consultation Services, Disability Services, Student Discipline Enforcement, and Ethics (UPT LKDPDEM) of Universitas Diponegoro organized the “Psychoeducation Campaign for International Students: Calm Your Thoughts, Raise Your Grace.”
The event began at 1:30 p.m. and was held at the Prof. Drs. Darmanto Jatman Hall, 1st Floor, Faculty of Psychology. The activity served as an inclusive space for international students from various faculties to take a break from academic pressures.
In her welcoming remarks, the Head of the Undergraduate Psychology Study Program, Dr. Ika Febrian Kristiana, S.Psi., M.Psi., emphasized that mental health is a fundamental foundation for academic success among international students. “The Faculty of Psychology is fully committed to providing an inclusive environment. Through this campaign, we learn that maintaining mental well-being is the key to bringing out the best potential—or grace—within each individual,” she stated. This message aligns with the university’s mission to create a supportive academic atmosphere for all members of the academic community, regardless of their country of origin.
The presence of the Deputy Director of Partnership and Global Connectivity, Pulung Widhi Hari Hananto, S.H., M.H., LL.M., further reinforced the university’s support. In his remarks, he emphasized that the comfort and well-being of international students are a priority for UNDIP’s global reputation.
“International students are an important part of UNDIP’s global community. We greatly appreciate this initiative because their well-being is not only about academic achievement, but also about feeling comfortable and accepted within our campus environment,” he said.
The Head of UPT LKDPDEM, Annastasia Ediati, S.Psi., M.Sc., Ph.D., also reinforced the role of counseling services in supporting cross-cultural adaptation. She explained in detail that mental resilience is crucial in dealing with culture shock.
“This Psychoeducation Campaign is specifically designed to embrace international students so they feel supported. We want to ensure that every student has strong mental resilience to face academic and cultural challenges at Universitas Diponegoro,” she emphasized.
The event continued with a lively Fun Games session, featuring group exercises and various skill-based games to strengthen a sense of togetherness. After the atmosphere became more relaxed, students participated in Coloring Therapy and a Sharing Session, facilitated by experts Dr. Lusi Nur Ardhiani, S.Psi., M.Psi., Psikolog; Dwi Hardani, S.Psi., M.Si.; and Aldani Putri Wijayanti, S.Psi., M.Psi., Psikolog.
The activity concluded with the distribution of prizes to the Fun Games group winners, leaving a cheerful impression. It is hoped that the spirit of “Calm Your Thoughts, Raise Your Grace” will continue to guide students in their daily lives, fostering a brighter future.
Through the successful implementation of this activity, UPT LKDPDEM of Universitas Diponegoro once again reaffirmed its commitment to creating a campus ecosystem that excels not only intellectually but is also mentally and emotionally healthy for all students.
