UNDIP, Aceh (22/1) – The UNDIP Disaster Response Team, D-DART UNDIP, continues to support post-disaster recovery efforts in Aceh and Sumatra. Ongoing programs and initiatives focus on providing clean water and disaster nutrition services to high-risk community groups, such as toddlers and pregnant women.
In addition to logistical assistance, UNDIP volunteer teams also assisted disaster survivors in Sekumur Village, Sekerak Subdistrict, Aceh, focusing on spiritual psychosocial support for 30 adults, coloring therapy for 30 children, and a mobile mini library.
The logistics distributed included:
- Snacks
- Religious books (the Qur’an and Juz Amma)
- Religious learning media (raised-letter Hijaiyyah posters, ablution procedures, and Iqro books)
- Children’s and baby necessities
- Underwear for children and adults
The Coordinator of Team 5, Ns. Nur Hafizhah Widyaningtyas, S.Kep., M.Kep., stated that the activities were carried out smoothly until completion. “The current weather conditions are clear, and there are quite a number of volunteers at the evacuation site. Based on discussions with survivors, the community expressed appreciation for the psychosocial therapies implemented, such as Qur’an recitation, short religious talks, touch therapy, and relaxation sessions. The community hopes that these psychosocial activities can be continued regularly by volunteers,” she said.
The fifth batch of UNDIP Volunteer Teams is scheduled to serve in Aceh Tamiang from January 19–24, 2026, while continuing to coordinate with previously deployed teams and the local government. (Public Communication/UNDIP/Fadhil, ed. Ut)
