UNDIP, Semarang (6/2) – Universitas Diponegoro held the “Purna Adi Cendekia” Ceremony as a form of respect and appreciation for professors who have entered retirement. The ceremony took place at the Prof. Sudarto, S.H. Building, UNDIP Tembalang Campus, on Friday, February 6, 2026, attended by university leaders, members of the academic community, families, and guests.
In his remarks, the Rector of Universitas Diponegoro, Prof. Dr. Suharnomo, S.E., M.Si., stated that the Purna Adi Cendekia ceremony is not merely a formality, but rather a reflection of UNDIP’s recognition of the dedication, integrity, and tangible contributions of retiring professors in advancing the Tri Dharma of higher education.
“Today, we can collectively see and enjoy the progress of UNDIP. This includes educational buildings that are nearly completed, as well as the development of other facilities such as jogging tracks and ‘UNDIP Rumah Kita’, which is green, clean, and Instagrammable, providing a comfortable and beautiful place for photos,” said the Rector.

A total of four retired professors received the Purna Adi Cendekia award on this occasion, namely: Prof. Dr. Yusriyadi, S.H., M.S. from the Faculty of Law; Prof. Ir. Abdullah, M.S., Ph.D. from the Faculty of Engineering; Prof. Dr. Ir. Siswanto Imam Santoso, M.P. from the Faculty of Animal and Agricultural Sciences; and Prof. Dra. Norma Afiati, M.Sc., Ph.D. from the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences. During their tenure, these professors demonstrated dedication and contributed to education, research, community service, and institutional governance.
Prof. Dr. Yusriyadi, S.H., M.S., from the Faculty of Law, is an expert in the Fundamentals of Legal Science who discussed Legal Positivism and Its Implications for Legal Science and Law Enforcement. His ideas are expected to serve as a future model of integration and harmonization as an ideal framework for law enforcement.
Prof. Dra. Norma Afiati, M.Sc., Ph.D., from the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences, presented research on Malacology, a field that remains relatively unpopular. As an expert in Marine Biology and Ecology, she explained that among thousands of aquatic animal species, only three major groups are commonly utilized by humans: fish, shrimp, and mollusks.
Prof. Dr. Ir. Siswanto Imam Santoso, M.P., an expert in Agribusiness from the Faculty of Animal and Agricultural Sciences, emphasized in his scientific address that downstream processing is not only about increasing product value but also about effective management and marketing of agricultural products.
Prof. Ir. Abdullah, M.S., Ph.D., a Biotechnology expert from the Faculty of Engineering, presented his scientific work on the Production of Polyhydroxybutyrate (PHB) Biopolymer from Cassava Starch and Urea by Bacillus Megaterium Sp.
The Purna Adi Cendekia ceremony concluded with award presentations and a group photo session. This event reflects UNDIP’s commitment to honoring the dedication and contributions of professors who have produced works and innovations in support of UNDIP’s vision of being noble and valuable.
