UNDIP, Semarang (10/3) – The Faculty of Economics and Business of Universitas Diponegoro (FEB UNDIP) held a Scientific Oration for its 66th Anniversary (Dies Natalis) on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at the Entrepreneurship Hall (KWU), FEB UNDIP Tembalang Campus.
This year’s scientific oration featured Prof. Dr. Anggito Abimanyu, S.E., M.Sc., Chairman of the Board of Commissioners of the Indonesia Deposit Insurance Corporation (LPS). The event was attended by the Rector of UNDIP and university leadership, deans of faculties and schools, guests, and members of the FEB UNDIP academic community.
In his remarks at the opening of the event, UNDIP Rector Prof. Dr. Suharnomo, S.E., M.Si., expressed his hopes for the occasion. “I hope the 66th anniversary of FEB UNDIP will inspire the academic community to rise together in unity and achieve greater accomplishments,” he stated.
He also highlighted the achievements of FEB UNDIP alumni.
“FEB UNDIP’s alumni are remarkable. Recently, we received news that some have been appointed as directors of Bank Jateng and other institutions. Synergy and collaboration must continue to be strengthened in order to achieve greater achievements,” said Prof. Suharnomo.
Meanwhile, Dean of UNDIP’s Faculty of Economics and Business, Prof. Faisal, S.E., M.Si., Ph.D., also expressed his hope that the FEB academic community would continue to work together in support of ‘Noble and Valuable UNDIP’.
“The theme of the 66th anniversary of FEB UNDIP is ‘From Academic Excellence to Social Impact: Sixty Six Dignified Contributions.’ Through this theme, lecturers, staff, students, and alumni are expected not only to excel academically but also to uphold dignity and provide meaningful contributions to society,” he said.
During his session, Prof. Dr. Anggito Abimanyu, S.E., M.Sc., delivered a scientific oration titled “Global Geopolitical Transformation: The Middle East Conflict and Its Geoeconomic Implications for Indonesia, and the Challenges of Teaching Economics in Universities.” He explained that the Middle East conflict has shifted the global geopolitical order, including affecting Indonesia.
“The Middle East conflict has influenced changes in the global geopolitical landscape, including Indonesia. As a result, countries face challenges in maintaining economic stability amid global volatility. However, there are also strategic opportunities to strengthen our position in the global economy,” he said.
He further emphasized the need to review how economics and business are taught in universities. “Therefore, what can be done on campus is to reconsider the way economics and business are taught. The teaching approach must be more adaptive to current global conditions,” he explained. Concluding his speech, Prof. Anggito said, “Happy 66th Anniversary to the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Diponegoro.
