UNDIP, Semarang (6/5) – Universitas Diponegoro (UNDIP) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with BPJS Ketenagakerjaan on Tuesday, May 6, 2026. The memorandum was signed by UNDIP Rector, Prof. Dr. Suharnomo, S.E., M.Si., together with the Director of Human Capital and General Affairs of BPJS Ketenagakerjaan, Harjono Siswanto. This collaboration aims to support the implementation of the Three Pillars of Higher Education (Tridharma Perguruan Tinggi) by developing education, research, and community service related to employment and social security.
Director of Human Capital and General Affairs of BPJS Ketenagakerjaan, Harjono Siswanto, stated that the signing represents an important and strategic step in strengthening synergy between BPJS Ketenagakerjaan and the academic sector. “The signing of this memorandum of understanding is a very important and strategic step to strengthen synergy between BPJS Ketenagakerjaan and academia. We hope this collaboration will create broader impacts for the development of knowledge, the improvement of human resources, and the strengthening of Indonesia’s employment social protection system,” said Harjono.
The cooperation covers various areas. In education, collaboration will include developing learning programs, hosting guest lectures, and implementing initiatives that connect theoretical knowledge with practical workplace applications. In research, the partnership is expected to produce scientific studies that can strengthen Indonesia’s employment social security system, including through scientific publications such as the Jurnal Jamsostek, which is currently undergoing accreditation.
Meanwhile, in community service, both parties will promote greater social security literacy through internship programs and other educational activities. One of the main focuses of this collaboration is implementing an employment social security curriculum to instill understanding among students early on as future workers and leaders.
“Understanding employment social security needs to be introduced from an early stage. We hope this material will not only be understood conceptually, but also become an applicable competency relevant to the workforce,” Harjono added.
UNDIP Rector, Prof. Dr. Suharnomo, S.E., M.Si., welcomed the collaboration and reaffirmed UNDIP’s commitment to strengthening partnerships with strategic partners.
“This cooperation opens broader opportunities for collaboration between academia and practitioners. We hope students will not only understand concepts, but also gain comprehensive insights into the practical aspects of the labor sector,” he stated.
The Rector also appreciated the initiative to enhance employment social security literacy promoted through this collaboration. “We appreciate the initiative to strengthen employment social security literacy. We hope this understanding can be applied within the campus environment and become important preparation for students in the future,” he added.
Through this memorandum of understanding, UNDIP reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening its role as a university that is adaptive to workforce needs and developments in social protection systems. This partnership represents a strategic effort to integrate academic aspects with real-world practices in the employment sector. Moving forward, UNDIP hopes this collaboration will encourage innovation in education, research, and community service, while also expanding social security literacy within the university environment. In this way, UNDIP aims not only to produce academically outstanding graduates but also individuals who are aware of and ready to uphold the importance of workplace protection.
