UNDIP, Semarang (7/7) – Universitas Diponegoro (UNDIP) held a departure ceremony for 9,030 students to carry out the Community Service Program (KKN) TEAM II of the 2025/2026 Academic Year. The Community Service Program (KKN) is a concrete implementation of community service based on science, research, and multi-party collaboration to support sustainable regional development. The departure ceremony for the KKN Team II students for the 2025/2026 Academic Year took place at the Muladi Dome multipurpose building on the UNDIP Tembalang campus on Tuesday, July 7th, 2026.
Students will be placed in various regions across Central Java province under two implementation schemes: Thematic Community Service Program (KKN-T) and Regular Community Service Program (KKN). A total of 4,414 students will participate in the Thematic Community Service Program, spread across 23 regencies, 74 sub-districts, and 133 villages/sub-districts, while 4,616 students will participate in the Regular Community Service Program, held in 10 regencies, 48 sub-districts, and 453 villages/sub-districts.
Present to give a speech, the Governor of Central Java, Komjen Pol (Purn) Drs. Ahmad Luthfi, SH, S.St.MK, said that the KKN program is not only oriented towards community service activities, but is also expected to be a solution to various development problems at the local level.
One of the strategic programs initiated by the Central Java provincial government is the Kecamatan Berdaya program (Empowered Subdistricts). The goal is to make subdistricts centers of economic growth, creativity, and community empowerment.
The Governor further explained that the Kecamatan Berdaya program focuses on four main areas: protection of women and children, empowerment of the younger generation through millennial programs and creative economic development, social welfare services for people with disabilities and the elderly, and infrastructure development and development of regional potential. Through this cross-sectoral approach, KKN students are expected to produce innovations tailored to community needs and regional characteristics.
The Governor also requested the UNDIP Rector to select three KKN students who have significantly contributed and benefited the sub-districts where the program is being conducted. Benefit is defined as their ability to apply their knowledge to support government programs such as reducing stunting rates and improving village literacy. The three successful students will receive scholarships from the Central Java Provincial Government.
Echoing the Governor of Central Java, UNDIP Rector, Prof. Dr. Suharnomo, S.E., M.Si., told students that Universitas Diponegoro was selected as the most collaborative campus in Central Java province in early 2026. The Rector added that UNDIP continues to support Central Java provincial government programs such as hybrid sea walls, desalination, stunting reduction, and other programs.
Furthermore, the Rector advised the KKN students to maintain the good name of their alma mater and seriously apply the knowledge they have gained to provide benefits to the community.
In addition to establishing cooperation for the Kecamatan Berdaya program with the Central Java Provincial Government, UNDIP KKN also collaborates with other institutions, including: the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) in Sragen Regency; the National Library of the Republic of Indonesia (Perpusnas) in Boyolali Regency; PT Patra Logistik in Semarang City; the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) will be implemented in Semarang Regency, Kendal Regency, and Demak Regency; and also the Semarang Food and Drug Monitoring Agency (BPOM).
The implementation of the 2025/2026 Academic Year KKN Team II is supported by 306 Field Supervisor Lecturers (DPL) who play a role in ensuring that the learning process, mentoring, and program implementation run systematically, measurably, and provide real impacts for the community.
All KKN programs during this period are also designed to contribute to the achievement of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Therefore, each student activity is expected to not only produce academic outcomes but also have a sustainable social, economic, and environmental impact on the community.
Through the 2025/2026 Academic Year (SKD) Team II Community Service Program (KKN), Universitas Diponegoro is reinforcing its role as a university focused on solving real-world societal problems through the use of science, innovation, and collaboration. KKN serves not only as a learning tool for students to develop academic competence, leadership, and adaptability, but also as a strategic instrument in supporting regional development, strengthening community resilience, and achieving inclusive and sustainable prosperity.
