UNDIP Achieves 2018 Ministry of Research, Technology, and Higher Education Public Relation Award

Semarang-Ministry of Research, Technology, and Higher Education (Kemenristekdikti) presents an award for Public Relations of Public Universities (PTN) and Higher Education Service Institution (LLDikti), as well as Public Service Complaint Managers (Lapor!) of Ministry of Research, Technology, and Higher Education (Kemenristekdikti) as an appreciation of their performance.

The awarding ceremony took place on Thursday night (03/01/2019) at Diponegoro University (Undip) for the second time. The aspects assessed in the Public Relations Award includes the quality of information services through the internet (website), social media, and media relations. Whereas for the Lapor! Management Awards, the aspects assessed were the quantity of complaints, completion, and the average follow-up.

The event organized by the Kemenristekdikti’s Public Cooperation and Communication Bureau (KSKP) involved independent and competent judges, namely the President’s Special Staff for Communication Adita Irawati Institution, Strategic Digital Nukman Luthfie, and Members of the Public Relations Association and Founder of Nagaru Communication Dian Agustine Nuriman.

“I hope the public relation of PTN and LLDikti will become more qualified. I hope this award will be able to encourage public relations staff of PTN and LLDikti to work more creatively. The hope is that the selected PTNs and LLDikti can motivate other public relations to work better.For those who have not won, please keep doing its best. We are waiting for your best work in 2019,” said the Secretary General of the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education Ainun Na’im. In addition to the Secretary General, the award was also presented by Undip Rector Yos Johan Utama, Head of LLDikti Central Java RegionVI Dwi Yuwono Puji Sugiharto, and Head of KSKP Bureau of Kemenristekdikti Nada Marsudi.

In line with the principles of good governance, the public relations function of the government becomes vital. Government policies must be communicated, quickly, accurately, and in ways that are accepted by the public.For this reason, government public relations must be able to build close relationships with stakeholders.

Public Relations of PTN and LLDikti must disseminate ministry programs and absorb community aspirations, as well as a reference for determining the direction of institutional policy.In line with this role, public relations must carry out the main functions of public relations, such as planning, compiling and distributing information through mass media, new media, and exhibitions.
