Deepen the Understanding of Vocational Management, FT UNRI Engages a Comparative Study to Vocational UNDIP

Diponegoro University Vocational School received a visit from the Riau University’s Faculty of Engineering Vocational School group just recently in the Dean Meeting Room of the Undip Vocational School.

The group was received by the Dean of the Undip Vocational School Prof. Budiyono accompanied with the Undip Vocational School Vice Dean Dr. Agus Purwanto SE, M.Sc, as well as structural officials in the Undip Vocational School environment.

The visiting team from the Faculty of Engineering UNRI which consisted of 12 people were led by the Vice Dean of General and Finance Faculty of Engineering UNRI Suwitno, ST., MT., Vice Dean of Student Affairs, Cooperation and Alumni of the Faculty of Engineering UNRI Prof. Dr. Eng. Azridjal Aziz, ST., MT. as well as heads of departments and heads of study programs within the Faculty of Engineering UNRI.

In his remarks, the Dean of the Undip Vocational School Prof. Budiyono said that in order to adjust to the field of work and today’s industries, we have to revitalize the vocational education by requiring all competent Vocational School graduates to meet the industry needs. The Undip Vocational School curriculum itself have been adjusted to industry needs, a dual system implementation, and 50% of Undip Vocational School lecturers from industry and 50% from universities have been implemented as well” explained the professor of Chemical Engineering Undip.

“The curriculum of the Applied Undergraduate Program at Undip Vocational School is conceptualized with a package system with a composition of 60 percent practice and 40 percent theory.”

Meanwhile the Vice Dean of Student Affairs, Cooperation and Alumni of the Faculty of Engineering UNRI Prof. Dr. Eng. Azridjal Aziz, ST., MT. said that his visit to the Undip Vocational School was aimed to Brainstorming and Capacity Building in curriculum development and teaching-learning process for the study programs of D III Civil Engineering, D III Mechanical Engineering, D III Electrical Engineering and D III Pulp and Paper Technology ” he explained.

Prof. Azridjal Aziz hopes that this comparative study can broaden their horizons and provide new experiences for them in developing vocational courses at the Faculty of Engineering of UNRI so that they can keep improving the academic and non-academic qualities.
