Supported by adequate facilities, such as Bloomberg Financial Laboratory services, which are provided by Faculty of Economics and Business Undip, made it to be the only one in Indonesia and equal to colleagues in the same level in the world.
For the achievement reached by Faculty of Economics and Business Undip, Suharnomo expressed his gratitude for the support of Undip leaders, lecturers, educators, students, and the mass media who always support efforts to improve their performances. Many parties have contributed to this achievement. “Thank you for all your supports,” he added.
The ranking of business and management is one of the 51 assessments conducted annually by QS World University Ranking. The assessment is carried out on four components, they are academic reputation, teacher reputation, research citation, and H-index. The main purpose of the ranking is to help prospective students identify the world’s leading schools in their chosen field in response to a high demand for comparisons of subject levels.
Each ranking is prepared using four sources, namely QS global survey of academics and employers, which is used to assess international reputation of the institution in each subject; assessment of research impact, based on research citations per paper and H-index on relevant subjects using the Scopus Elsevier database, the most comprehensive database of research citations in the world.
At the global level, Faculty of Economics and Business Undip has also made proud achievements since it is ranked in the 500-550 business study destination campuses. Of the top 500 campuses aimed at studying business by students, Harvard is in the top position and the United States is the country that has the largest contributor to the best business campuses (105 campuses) followed by UK which places 62 campuses.
The data used by QS is based on research and data on the academic reputation of more than 100,000 academics around the world, employer reputation from nearly 50,000 survey responses where employers are asked to identify up to 10 domestic and 30 international institutions that they consider good for graduate recruitment. They are also asked to identify the disciplines they choose to recruit to.
Regarding citations, the method used is by measuring citations per paper, not citations per faculty member using citation data sourced from Scopus, over a five-year period. The H-index is used to calculate the most cited academics and the number of citations they receive in other publications.
