Wednesday (23/06) – Academic Senate of Diponegoro University (Undip) held a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) activity. Considering that we are still in a state of Covid-19 pandemic, the event is held virtually via Microsoft Teams platform at 09.00 AM.
This FGD was attended by Rector of Diponegoro University, Vice Rectors, Leaders and Members of the Academic Senate of Diponegoro University. The event aims to discuss preparation of Academic Senate Procedure Manual documents on the Monitoring and Evaluation (Monev) of the Implementation of Education on Diponegoro University.
The FGD was opened by Chair of Academic Senate, Prof. Ir. Edy Rianto, M.Sc., Ph.D., IPU., and guided by Secretary of Academic Senate, Prof. Dr. Endang Larasati Setianingsih, M.S. The FGD moderated by Secretary of Commission I of Academic Senate, Prof. Dr. Ir. Suradi, M.S., presented several discussions, including Free Learning – Independent Campus program, preparing Undip alumni to enter an increasingly dynamic world of work, implementing a quality assurance system at Undip, and preparing procedure manual documents. Commission I of Undip Academic Senate has the responsibility in handling the field of University Academic Policy.
Opening the FGD event regarding Monev on the Implementation of Education on Campus, Undip Rector, Prof. Dr. Yos Johan Utama, SH., M.Hum., said that the challenge of the current education process is how to maintain the quality of education and make the public believe in the competence of graduates considering the pattern of education that has changed from offline to online. “Maintaining the quality of education is not only in its process, but also in the educational content itself,” said Prof. Yos. “So the work of each faculty leaders is to improve the quality of education that can arouse interest of prospective students in choosing the study program,” he added.
The event is followed by the presentation of Chair of Commission I of Academic Senate, Prof. Dr. Ir. Suripin, M.Eng., he explained the plan to prepare Academic Senate Procedure Manual documents regarding Monitoring and Evaluation of the Implementation of Education on Campus. The preparation of various procedure manuals is one form of implementing the quality assurance system at Diponegoro University.
This procedure manual contains guidelines for related parties in carrying out supervisory activities in the academic field. This will create certainty in procedures and administrative order related to the supervision and evaluation of implementation of activities and learning processes at Undip. This procedure manual will improve the management system and quality assurance in Undip.
