FT UNDIP Conducted ZI-WBK Mentoring to 11 State Universities and Higher Education Service Institutions

The Faculty of Engineering (FT) of Diponegoro University (Undip) has just held technical assistance regarding the Corruption-Free Regional Integrity Zone (ZI-WBK) to 11 State Universities (PTN) and Higher Education Service Institutions, on Wednesday (22/06) and Thursday (23/06) located at the Dean Building of the Faculty of Engineering, Undip Tembalang campus.

This event was also attended by the Undip Rector who was represented by the Vice Rector II for Resources, the Head of the Organization and Administration Bureau of the Ministry of Education and Culture Research and Technology, the Inspector General of the Ministry of Education and Culture Research and Technology & Plt. Expert Staff to the Minister for Regulation Division, Head of Sub-Directorate for Community Empowerment DRPM, Dean of FT Undip and his staff, Head of the Undip Internal Supervisory Unit (SPI), Team of Corruption-Free Regional Integrity Zone (ZI-WBK) and Clean and Serving Bureaucracy Regional Integrity Zone ( ZI-WBBM) FT Undip, and representatives from 11 state universities and higher education service institutions.

This event was held in order to follow up on the construction of an integrity zone at State Universities and Higher Education Service Institutions in 2022. Previously, FT Undip was selected as a work unit with the predicate of being a Corruption-Free Regional Integrity Zone (ZI-WBK) in 2021 from the Ministry of Administrative Reform and Bureaucratic Reform (PANRB).

With the election of FT Undip as a ZI-WBK predicated work unit in 2021, the Directorate General of Higher Education, Research and Technology appointed FT Undip to provide ZI-WBK assistance to 11 State Universities and Higher Education Service Institutions.

These 11 State Universities and Higher Education Service Institutions including the Directorate General of Science and Technology and Higher Education Resources, East Java Veterans National Development University, North Sumatra University, Denpasar Institute of the Arts, University of Jember, Bandung Institute of Technology, University of Lampung, Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology, Tanjungpura University Pontianak, Hasanuddin University, and Airlangga University.

On this occasion, Vice Rector II for Resources, Prof. Dr.rer.nat. Heru Susanto, S.T., M.M., M.T., opened a technical assistance event on ZI-WBK to 11 State Universities and Higher Education Service Institutions within the Directorate General of Higher Education. In his speech, Prof. Heru expressed his gratitude to the Ministry of Education and Culture for entrusting the Faculty of Engineering Undip to provide assistance.

“We would like to thank the Ministry for the cooperation with FT Undip. Hopefully what we are trying to do together besides having an impact on activities, it will also have an impact on our institutions, impact on bureaucratic reform in our respective institutions. Don’t let it be good on paper only, but in reality the work culture, service culture, and bureaucratic culture haven’t changed.”  said Prof. Heru.

According to Prof. Heru, building an Integrity Zone is part of bureaucratic reform and must be pursued continuously. “Indeed, building an Integrity Zone is part of bureaucratic reform that we must continue to strive for, because after all, we must continue to do Sustainable Improvement. If today is better, tomorrow must be even better.” he said.

Undip welcomed the appointment of FT Undip by the Directorate General of Higher Education, Research and Technology as ZI-WBK technical assistant to 11 State Universities and Higher Education Service Institutions. “Once again we thank you. Of course there are some things that will be conveyed by the academic community at FT Undip. We are also still in the context of improving the management. When FT Undip is appointed as a companion, it does not mean that FT Undip is better but at least we can share our ideas.” concluded Prof. Heru.

The event continued with the delivery of several materials by the speakers, namely the Head of the Organization and Administration Bureau of the Ministry of Education and Culture, Research and Technology, Dr. Ir. Mustangimah, M.Si., who delivered material on the background of holding ZI-WBK assistance; Inspector General of the Ministry of Education and Culture, Research and Technology & Plt. Expert Staff to the Minister for Regulation Division, Dr. Chatarina Muliana Girsang, S.H., S.E., M.H., who delivered material on the evaluation of the development of the integrity zone; and the Head of Sub-Directorate for Community Empowerment of the DRPM Ministry of Education and Culture Research, Technology and Higher Education, Suwitno who provided direction and follow-up on ZI-WBK assistance.

The experience regarding the development of ZI-WBK in the FT Undip environment was also conveyed by the Dean of the FT Undip, Prof. Ir. M. Agung Wibowo, M.M., M.Sc., Ph.D. and Deputy Dean for Academic and Student Affairs, Dr. nat. tech. Siswo Sumardiono, S.T., M.T. In this event, a visit was also held to the Dean Building of FT Undip and the Undip Integrated Service Unit to find out more about the process of implementing the ZI-WBK.

In 2021, FT Undip succeeded in getting the ZI-WBK predicate from the Ministry of Administrative Reform and Bureaucratic Reform (PANRB). In addition to FT Undip, there are 5 work units of the Directorate General of Higher Education that received the title, including the Faculty of Engineering, Gadjah Mada University; Faculty of Public Health, University of Indonesia; Faculty of Food Technology, Brawijaya University; Faculty of Economics and Business, Padjadjaran University; and LLDIKTI Region VI Central Java.
