Semarang – Central Java (11/11). The TUK (Competency Test Place) UPT (Technical Implementation Unit) Library and Undip Press Diponegoro University (Undip) has just held a librarian competence certificate submission event on Friday (4/11) in the Meeting Room Floor 1 (one) UPT Library and Undip Press.
The event was attended by the Vice Rector for Communication and Business, Head of the Human Resource Development Agency (BPSDM) Undip, Head of the Communication and Business Bureau, Head of the General Affairs and Finance Bureau, Head of UPT Library and Undip Press, Representatives of the Professional Certification Agency (LSP) in the field of librarians, Managers and Supervisors in Undip, and librarian assessment participants.
The ceremony for handing over this competency certificate was based on the Decree of the Head of the Librarian Profession Certificate Institute Number 45 Year of 2022 concerning Determination of Competency Assessment Results at TUK UPT Library and Undip Press. Submission of certificates was submitted from the Professional Certification Institute (LSP) in the field of librarians represented by Assessors, Dra. Yuniwati BYPMMYRR, S.Sos., M.Si to the Head of BPSDM Undip, Prof. Mochamad Arief Budiharjo, S.T., M.Eng.Sc, Ph.D., IPM.
Starting his remarks, Vice Rector for Communication and Business, Prof. Budi Setiyono, S.Sos., M.Pol.Admin., Ph.D. congratulated participants who successfully passed the librarian competency assessment process. “On behalf of the leaders of the University, we congratulate you on this achievement. Hopefully this certificate can improve your ability, credibility, integrity, and also your skills as a librarian or as a librarian certificate holder.” said Prof. Budi.
By receiving the librarian certificate, Prof. Budi hoped that the participants could get better at providing services so they could accelerate Undip’s performance. “Our hope is that after you receive the certificate, your way of thinking and acting in serving would be better than before. This will accelerate Undip’s performance in serving customers, namely students, lecturers, and also the general public.” he explained.
Head of BPSDM Undip, Prof. Mochamad Arief Budiharjo, S.T., M.Eng.Sc, Ph.D., IPM. in his report explained that there were 40 participants who took part in the assessment and all of them passed the librarian competency certification. “The certification activity was attended by 40 participants and Alhamdulillah, all of them passed. We make sure they are truly competent in their respective fields.” explained Prof. Arief.
The 40 participants are education staff who come from all Faculties and Schools within Undip. They were divided into several competencies including Implementation of Library Collection Development (6 people), Library Basic Services (19 people), Implementation of Promotion of Library Services (4 people), Implementation of Computer-Based Cataloging (4 people), and Implementation of Subject Cataloging (7 people).
“Currently, Undip already has the four clusters, so they are quite complete and ready to go for library accreditation. We are pushing for library accreditation and with the four clusters we have, I think maximum results can be achieved.” concluded Prof. Arief. (Diah&Putri – Public Relations)
