Diponegoro University (Undip) held a Sinau Bareng event with Cak Nun and KiaiKanjeng at the Undip Tembalang Stadium, Semarang (22/12). This activity is a series of events in commemoration of the 65th Anniversary of Diponegoro University.
Undip Rector, Prof. Dr. Yos Johan Utama, S.H., M. Hum in his remarks said that Undip had implemented tolerance from the start, since Undip was founded by people of various ethnicities.
“Welcome, our teacher Cak Nun. Alhamdulillah we are all still given life and health. Let’s be grateful for God’s blessings by reciting the Qur’an and praying together. Searching for the truth is a life process,” said Prof. Yos.
The Rector hopes that the entire Undip academic community and the people present will be inspired to participate in creating a life that is harmonious, tolerant, maintaining unity, and not being dragged into self-righteousness.
As a gift and an expression of sympathy for Undip’s anniversary, Cak Nun presented a gift in the form of a Dramatic Reading performance with the title Jagat Pasinaon dan Sarjana Kehidupan.
According to Cak Nun, a true university scholar is a scholar who is able to see things in a broad interrelationship that understands the upstream and downstream of life. Not only complete or comprehensive, but also intact. With these qualities one deserves to be called a Scholar of Life.
“The Indonesian nation is a tough, strong, and highly resilient nation. In fact, the essence of the character of the Indonesian people is that their belief in God is very strong. Undip should adapt itself to the history of the Indonesian nation which was tough and long-term,” concluded Cak Nun. (Lin/Titis – Public Relations)
