“Brebes Regency has become a partner of the Diponegoro University for Community Service Program (KKN) so it is hoped that KKN students can carry out work programs to support and participate in solving problems in society as well as contribute knowledge that they have directly. What needs to be followed up in the future are student ideas and innovations,” said the Head of the Community Service Center (P2KKN), Kurniawan Teguh Martono, S.T., M.T. in his remarks at the Community Service Team I 2022/2023 visit at the Brebes Regency Islamic Center Office (9/2) with the theme “Undip Community Service Expo and Innovation Program, Together Advancing Villages with Work and Joy”.

“There are two flagship work programs for our village, namely the processing of superior village products, namely fish as an effort to reduce stunting in Pulogading Village. We held a cooking demonstration for PKK women in Pulogading Village. The resulting processed fish products are mackerel fish nuggets and fish croquettes. For the continuation of this program, we hope that this nutritious product can be used as additional food (PMT) at Posyandu in Pulogading Village to tackle stunting cases. The second program is village website management which aims to assist village officials to fill in content on the existing village website. Apart from these two programs, there are mono-disciplinary programs that are carried out by each student. The program was implemented to raise the potential of the village or overcome the problems that exist in Pulogading village,” he explained.
“One of the potentials in Pulogading village is the presence of salt ponds managed by residents. So far, residents are still selling raw salt harvests to collectors. One of our KKN team members, Dewi Atikah from Chemical Engineering Study Program, made a work program for processing krosok salt into bath bombs, foot salt, and bath salts to increase the selling price,” said the student majoring in Japanese Language and Culture.
Making bath bombs using krosok salt is one of the main advantages in Pulogading Village since it is easy and affordable to obtain the ingredients. It is easy and affordable to obtain the ingredients. Benefits of anti-bacterial bath bombs include helps overcome irritation, anti-inflammation, removes dead skin cells, absorbs dirt and toxins, deep cleans pores, helps maintain hydration, and relaxes.
“The community feels happy and quite helped by the KKN programs that we are doing. For example, MSMEs actors who receive assistance in the form of visual branding, Posyandu cadres who gain knowledge about preventing stunting and anemia, as well as assistance to village officials and schools. In our opinion, KKN has a very important role, both for students and for village communities. For students, we can apply the knowledge we have gained in college while at the same time contributing to society. Meanwhile, the presence of KKN students can help the surrounding community to gain useful new knowledge. From KKN activities, we are able to learn to develop soft skills and the ability to mingle with the outside community. Meanwhile, the education we get in college is very important in order to improve our capabilities,” he concluded. (Lin – Public Relations)
