UNDIP Strengthens Collaboration to Accelerate Its Path Toward the World’s Top 500

UNDIP, Semarang (January 9, 2026) – Universitas Diponegoro (UNDIP) held the Signing of the 2026 Performance Agreement on Friday, January 9, 2026, at the Rector’s Meeting Room, 2nd Floor of Widya Puraya Building, UNDIP Tembalang Campus. The event, which took place at 2:00 p.m., was attended by Vice Rectors I–IV, Deans of Faculties and Schools, and heads of agencies and work units within UNDIP.

The event was officially opened by the Rector of UNDIP, Prof. Dr. Suharnomo, S.E., M.Si. In his address, Prof. Suharnomo delivered strategic directions regarding program implementation and institutional performance strengthening to support the achievement of UNDIP’s Key Performance Indicators in 2026. He emphasized that a spirit of collaboration is the primary key to accelerating UNDIP’s progress toward becoming a world-class university.

“We must work together in a healthy, collaborative, and joyful way. UNDIP aims to accelerate and hopes to enter the world’s top 500. For leaders within UNDIP, exceeding targets is highly appreciated, but if targets are not yet achieved, that becomes a note for us to keep pushing forward together,” he asserted.

“All units are evaluated, and we also appreciate colleagues who show creativity in boosting the performance of their respective units. We invite many stakeholders to engage in open dialogue, so that a positive atmosphere can be presented and felt together,” he added.

Furthermore, Prof. Suharnomo stressed that all UNDIP policies and programs must be oriented toward students’ interests and sensitive to social-media dynamics. “The policies and programs we build are for students. We must be sensitive and responsive to students’ needs, including to dynamics on social media. Good planning must be followed by consistent implementation. Hopefully, what has been planned will run smoothly and even exceed targets, so that UNDIP can contribute more significantly to the world of education,” he said.

Meanwhile, Head of the Planning and Development Agency (BPP) of UNDIP, Prof. Dr. Ir. Purwanto, DEA., explained that the signing of UNDIP’s 2026 Performance Agreement implements the UNDIP Strategic Plan 2025–2029, which is now entering its second year. The performance indicators used include the Strategic Plan’s Key Performance Indicators for 2025–2029, especially the WCU (World-Class University), focusing on publication outputs, the Scopus index, and reputable Q1 and Q2 publications. UNDIP also refers to the Key Performance Indicators in the Performance Agreement between the Rector and the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology, which aligns with UNDIP’s Strategic Plan.

“We hope that UNDIP’s journey in 2026 will run smoothly. All programs will be implemented well and performance targets achieved, so that UNDIP will be increasingly recognized at the national and international levels,” Prof. Purwanto concluded.

The event continued with the Rector signing the 2026 Performance Agreement with Vice Rectors I–IV, Deans of Faculties and Schools, and heads of agencies and work units within UNDIP. On the same occasion, the 2026 Budget Implementation Documents were also handed over to each unit head. Through the Signing of the 2026 Performance Agreement, UNDIP reaffirmed the commitment of all leaders to realize transparent, effective governance oriented toward improving institutional performance. This activity is expected to serve as a strong foundation in supporting UNDIP’s vision to become an Excellent Research University. (Public Communication/UNDIP/Dhany)
