This year, Diponegoro University (Undip) has succeeded in being ranked 6th among Indonesian universities according to the Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings 2023. At the world level, Undip is ranked 201-300 out of 1,591 universities in 112 countries according to THE Impact Rankings 2023, where the assessment is based on 17 points of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The measurement of Higher Education Assessments is from four areas, namely research (research), stewardship (stewardship), outreach (outreach), and teaching (teaching).
Following one of its primary missions, which is to organize education to produce superior and competitive graduates, Undip continues to prioritize the quality of education in various scientific fields at Undip. In its implementation, Undip also invites the entire Undip extended family to support the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) planned by the United Nations (United Nations) through various programs. The aim is to participate actively in building a nation that is prosperous, democratic, and just with equitable development for all people.
Undip through the Diponegoro University SDGs Center collects multi-disciplinary intellectual capacity within the university as a valuable asset that can play a strategic role in encouraging the achievement of SDGs implementation in Indonesia in 2030.
Programs and activities related to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) include Environmental Monitoring Projects, Knowledge Management and Dissemination, Knowledge Partners and Networks, Community Empowerment, and Preparation of Policy Documents. With this, Undip hopes that the SDGs Center at Diponegoro University will realize its vision of becoming a university center of excellence capable of actively encouraging SDG achievement in Indonesia in 2030.
Undip Rector, Prof. Dr. Yos Johan Utama, S.H., M.Hum. expressed his gratitude to all parties for the achievements of Undip. “This is also proof that Undip is strongly committed to realizing a green, sustainable, and comfortable campus for all academics in life and activities around the campus. It is a part of the implementation to achieve Sustainable Development Goals at national and global levels (world),” said Prof Yos.
