The Diponegoro University (Undip) Softball Team won 1st place in the 2023 UGM Softball Cup championship. The event occurred from 27 May to 4 June 2023 at the UGM Valley Softball Field. The Undip Softball Team won the title in the Men’s category.
Muhammad Fadhil Rasyid, head of the Undip Softball Team, admitted that he was pleased and grateful for this victory because it was the first time the Undip Softball team won 1st place in a national event. “We as a team did not expect that what we were trying to finally pay off by bringing the Champion title and gold medal was an honor for us,” he said.
The Undip Softball Team previously took part in several championships at the city and national levels. The latest achievement of the Undip Softball Team was winning 2nd place at the 2018 UGM CUP championship. “This is a race for us not to give up easily, and we managed to be in 1st position or Champion. The 2023 UGM Softball Cup is an intercollegiate softball championship held by UKM Softball UGM. Thirteen student softball teams from various universities in Indonesia attended this year’s championship.
The thirteen teams were divided into eight men’s teams and five women’s teams came from Diponegoro University, UPI, UII, UNY, UGM, STT Telkom, Hasanuddin University, Semarang State University, and Siliwangi University.
