Diponegoro University (Undip) students achieved another proud achievement. Syahidah Asma Amanina, a Biotechnology student at the Faculty of Science and Mathematics (FSM) Undip, ranked 2nd in the 2023 National Level Outstanding Student Selection (Pilmapres) in the Undergraduate program category.
This class of 2020 student admitted that she was happy and grateful to be able to be the 2nd winner of the 2023 National Pilmapres. According to her, this achievement is a mandate that must be proven through accurate contributions and work and serving the surrounding environment, nation, and country.
“Alhamdulillah, I am very grateful because I was able to go through various long processes while I was a student and finally won 2nd place in the 2023 National Pilmapres. Thank you to Diponegoro University and all those who supported me in the 2023 National Pilmapres,” said Asma when the Public Relations team contacted her on Wednesday (02/08).
In a series of the 2023 Pilmapres events held on July 24-28, 2023, at Hasanuddin University Makassar, Asma managed to become the second best by bringing a creative idea entitled “ATTRACTION (Attractant Insects Basil): Increasing Oil Palm Fruit Set through Pollinator Insect Equalization Techniques for Plantations Sustainable Palm Oil.”
This creative idea is a technique for even distributing oil palm-pollinating insects. “This creative idea brings innovation to attractants from natural materials and beetle breeding, which is carried out in collaboration with communities around oil palm plantations, BUMDes, and research institutions,” Asma said.
Asma’s achievements have certainly been through careful preparation. Starting from preparing portfolio files, then preparing posters for media presentation of creative ideas and self-descriptions, then focusing intensively on preparing herself for the 2023 National Pilmapres final.
Previously, Asma had won several prestigious awards, including 1st place in the 2021 International Scientific Presentation Competition MOSHUEL, the Best Presenter at the 2023 International Innovation ARSVOT in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia, and Initiator in the Astra Green Energy Implementation activity organized by PT. Astra International Tbk. “I try to participate in various activities actively. I won more than 50 awards in national and international activities and competitions. In the future, I plan to do a research internship abroad and develop the business I am starting,” she said.
Furthermore, Asma invited other students to take advantage of the opportunity while they were students. The opportunity can be a stepping stone to get the best role. “Be the best version of yourself because we have been gifted with unique potential. Be shining in your way and take your best role to be a good and useful human being,” said Asma.
Pilmapres is a student competition held by the National Achievement Center under the auspices of the Ministry of Research, Technology, and Higher Education every year. The aim is to give appreciation to the best students ready to become agents of change to build a better Indonesia, with a focus on Bachelor and Diploma programs.
