UNDIP Holds Psychoeducation Campaign to Prepare Mentally Strong Students

UNDIP, Rembang (December 8, 2025) – Universitas Diponegoro (UNDIP), through the Technical Implementation Unit for Consultation Services, Disability, Discipline Enforcement, and Student Ethics (UPT LKDPDEM), once again demonstrates its strong commitment to strengthening the mental health of its academic community. As a form of care for students’ psychological well-being, UPT LKDPDEM organized a strategic initiative titled “Campaign Psychoeducation: Calm your Thoughts, Raise your Grace.” The program was held on December 5, 6, and 8, 2025, targeting students across three UNDIP campus locations.

The Psychoeducation Campaign series began at the PSDKU Campus in Batang Regency on Friday (Dec 5), continued at BPKJ Teluk Awur Jepara on Saturday (Dec 6), and concluded at the Rembang PSDKU Campus on Monday (Dec 8).

The initiative was motivated by the urgent need to enhance mental health awareness in higher education, particularly amid increasingly complex academic dynamics. The university views emotional stability and mental clarity as fundamental assets for students to excel academically and to build resilient character. Therefore, psychoeducation was chosen as the core approach of this program to provide a comprehensive understanding of emotional regulation.

The event began with an introduction of the DSCW (Diponegoro Student Care Warriors) team and an opening by the MC. It was followed by a welcoming remark from the Head of the Public Administration Study Program at the Rembang PSDKU Campus, Dr. Drs. R. Slamet Santoso, M.Si.

In his speech, Dr. Slamet Santoso warmly welcomed the UPT LKDPDEM team and emphasized the importance of this collaboration for PSDKU students. “We greatly appreciate the proactive initiative by UPT LKDPDEM in coming directly to the Rembang campus. We hope this collaboration will not stop at a single activity, but will continue as a sustainable agenda,” he said.

“Psychoeducation programs like this are crucial as supportive solutions to accompany students through academic challenges, enabling them to study smoothly and complete their education with optimal results,” he added.

The agenda continued with remarks from the Head of UPT LKDPDEM, Annastasia Ediati, S.Psi., M.Sc., Ph.D., who also officially opened the event. She highlighted the importance of stress management, especially ahead of Final Semester Examinations, and encouraged students to practice simple relaxation techniques.

“In the midst of heavy academic workloads, students must not forget their psychological well-being—students must remember to stay happy. Through art therapy approaches such as coloring, we encourage students to train emotional regulation and inner calm,” she explained.

“This activity is specially designed to help students manage stress, especially approaching the final exams, so their positive energy and motivation to learn can be rebuilt,” she continued.

After a solemn opening ceremony featuring the singing of Indonesia Raya and Mars Diponegoro, the event moved to an interactive session designed to build a positive atmosphere. Participants engaged in outbound activities, including group exercise to release physical tension, followed by individual and group games to strengthen student cohesiveness.

As the highlight of the campaign, UPT LKDPDEM facilitated counseling sessions led directly by professional counselors. These sessions provided a safe space for students to discuss academic or personal challenges they were facing. The event concluded with a closing session reflecting on the campaign’s primary goal: fostering a healthy, supportive educational environment free of excessive psychological pressure.

Through this activity, UNDIP hopes to cultivate a supportive and empathetic campus ecosystem where mental health is no longer stigmatized but becomes an open and solution-driven discourse. Universitas Diponegoro believes that students with strong mental well-being will be able to contribute more significantly to their alma mater, society, and the nation, in alignment with UNDIP’s vision of a Noble and Valuable UNDIP.
