KKN UNDIP Team 2 Students Improved the Performance of BUMDES PERTADES with Orderly Administration and Education

Village-owned enterprises (BUMDES) are business entities at the village level that have legal entity status. It is usually established by the Village Government to respond to local needs and potential. The establishment process is regulated through village regulations and carried out by members of the Village Government and the community who are involved in decision-making. BUMDES funding can come from Village Government support, community savings, provincial and district/city government assistance, loans, and partnerships with other parties.

In an effort to equalize fuel access in villages, PT Mutiara Teknologi Indonesia collaborates with BUMDES. Through the PERTADES business unit, BUMDES is empowered to have its fuel filling station and provide fuel sales services to the people of Kedungbanteng Village. The existence of a fuel filling station can increase economic growth and support transportation and industry in the village.

Considering the importance of BUMDES PERTADES for Kedungbanteng Village, KKN Undip Team 2 students from the management and mathematics department, Abdurrahman Malik Nitisastra and Bachtiar Rifqi Maulana, are committed to improving the performance of BUMDES PERTADES in Kedungbanteng Village. After conducting a survey and searching for information about BUMDES PERTADES in Kedungbanteng Village, it was discovered that the management faced several problems. These problems include bookkeeping administration, which still needs to be more systematic. There is a low level of knowledge and interest of the Kedungbanteng Village community towards BUMDES PERTADES, as well as financial constraints because it was only established in 2021. Mr. Tedi, the manager of BUMDES PERTADES, stated, “The profits cannot yet be the source of the village’s income because it is still needed for the operational costs of BUMDES PERTADES.” By paying attention to these problems, BUMDES PERTADES has become the target of a monodisciplinary program to help improve its performance. This program will focus on controlling bookkeeping administration and disseminating BUMDES PERTADES knowledge to the surrounding community.

Two monodisciplinary programs were carried out by the two KKN Undip TEAM 2 students. The first is the creation of BUMDES PERTADES bookkeeping to improve administrative order and improve the performance of BUMDES PERTADES. Second, create promotional media and educate Kedungbanteng Village residents to use PERTADES.

The first monodisciplinary program is the creation of BUMDES PERTADES bookkeeping to improve administrative order and improve the performance of BUMDES PERTADES. The program was created because of bookkeeping administration, which is still managed manually and is less systematic, so it is prone to errors either in data input or in calculations. It took 5 meetings with the BUMDES PERTADES management to be able to determine what kind of bookkeeping was suitable for BUMDES PERTADES and could be carried out by the manager. The aim of this program is realized by helping to create electronic bookkeeping using Excel software.

On July 22, 2023, training was conducted on simple bookkeeping using Microsoft Excel for BUMDES PERTADES managers, accompanied by the creation of monthly report templates so that it was easier for managers to understand them.

The creation of electronic bookkeeping will likely make it easier for BUMDES PERTADES managers in bookkeeping administration. It can help improve the performance of BUMDES PERTADES so that in the future, it is hoped that it will be more beneficial to the community.

Apart from administrative system problems, in Kedungbanteng Village itself, more awareness is still needed of the importance of PERTADES for the village residents themselves. In overcoming the problem of lack of public awareness of PERTADES, KKN UNDIP Team II student Abdurrahman Malik Nitisastra designed a second program that aims to disseminate the identity and uses of PERTADES to village communities. This monodisciplinary program is implemented by creating promotional and marketing media for PERTADES in the form of banners and posters, as well as conducting questions and answers with several residents regarding PERTADES. This program starts from July 19 to July 25, 2023, at PERTADES Kedung Banteng Village and its surroundings.

With the involvement of KKN Undip Team 2 students, BUMDES PERTADES in Kedungbanteng Village has experienced improved performance through efforts to control bookkeeping administration and disseminate knowledge about BUMDES PERTADES to the surrounding community. Through the monodisciplinary program implemented, bookkeeping administration problems that were previously manual and less systematic can be overcome by creating electronic bookkeeping using Excel software. Apart from that, public awareness about the existence and benefits of BUMDES PERTADES has also been increased through effective marketing and promotion programs.

The results of the hard work of KKN Undip Team 2 students can provide sustainable benefits for BUMDES PERTADES in Kedungbanteng Village, helping the community to get fuel services more efficiently, as well as supporting overall village economic growth. This program would not have been possible without the care and cooperation of students and the Kedungbanteng Village PERTADES management and thanks to the guidance of the KKN Field Supervisor, namely Dr. Drs. Catur Kepirianto., M.Hum., Dr. Hersugondo, S.E., M.M. and Ardiana Alifatus Sa’adah., S.Si., M.Si. and Mr. Budiarso as Head of Kedungbanteng Village.
