Every year, on November 12, we celebrate National Health Day as a momentum to reflect on the importance of health in building a resilient and empowered society. This year, the theme “Health Transformation for Advanced Indonesia” is a call to commit together in efforts to create a healthier and better quality future.
The commemoration of National Health Day is also a moment of reflection for the government and society to work together in implementing health programs. Active support from all parties, including the private sector and civil society, is the key to success in achieving national health goals.
The Semarang City Health Service, together with all hospitals, health centers, and health institutions, held a series of commemorations of the 2023 National Health Day with several competitions, such as table tennis, badminton, volleyball, and stretching exercises. The highlight of the series of activities commemorating the 2023 National Health Day was the Cooking Vaganza with Mbak Ita and a health exhibition from all hospitals and health agencies in Semarang City at Simpang Lima this morning.
The RSND nutrition installation, which participated in enlivening the Cooking Vaganza with Mbak Ita, made processed non-rice food made from sweet potatoes, namely sweet potato gado-gado and taro sago jelly, which were ready to be distributed to the public. The aim of the Cooking Vaganza with Mbak Ita event is to provide food of good nutritional quality in accordance with the existing local culture by maximizing the capacity of home industrial food production. RSND nutrition installation provided education to reduce the public stigma of ‘you haven’t eaten if you haven’t eaten rice.’ The education given was about alternative consumption of staple foods other than rice and reducing the potential for people’s dependence on rice.
At this health exhibition, RSND opened eye and ear examination services as well as physical doctor consultations and rehabilitation, which are RSND’s current superior services. Robotics has become one of Diponegoro University’s roles in contributing to innovation related to technology and medicine. Eye and ear examinations are also a preventive measure for the community to maintain eye and ear health.
The 2023 National Health Day invites us all to reflect and act through small changes in daily lifestyle and active collaboration between all parties. We can form a healthy generation that is ready to face future challenges. Happy National Health Day!
