FH Undip Won the Second General Champion in the 2024 WTA Open National Championship

The Faculty Student Activity Unit (UKM-F) Martial Arts Faculty of Law, Diponegoro University, won Second General Champion in the National Karate Championship Wira Tanggon Adhisatya (WTA) Open Cup of the Ministry of Youth and Sports (Kemenpora) of the Republic of Indonesia which was held on January 19-21, 2024, at the GOR Ciracas, East Jakarta. The 2024 WTA Open Jakarta National Championship aimed to improve the achievements of Athletes in Indonesia and as a competency testing event as a form of preparation for a higher level.

UKM-F Martial Arts of the Faculty of Law Undip won the Second General Champion with 14 Gold Medals, 2 Silver Medals, and 2 Bronze Medals. A total of ten (10) people were delegates of the Faculty of Law Undip students from UKM-F Martial Arts to take part in this championship. Competitions in this championship consist of two types, namely Individual Kata and Team Kata, as well as Individual Kumite.

At the national championship, the Undip student delegation that won medals included:

  1. Firman Maulana, Legal Studies 2023, won the Men’s U21 Individual Kata Gold Medal, Men’s Individual Kata Student Gold Medal, and the Men’s Senior Team Kata Gold Medal.
  2. Aqmarina Nurin, Legal Studies 2023, won the Gold Medal in Senior Women’s Team Kata, Gold Medal Kumite -55 kg U21 Women, and Women’s Kumite Student Gold Medal -55 kg.
  3. Dzaki Al Jabbar, Legal Studies 2023, won the Men’s Kumite Gold Medal +84 kg and the Men’s Kumite Student Gold Medal +84 kg.
  4. Anindita Fauziah, Legal Studies 2023, won the Gold Medal in Women’s Kumite -61 kg and Women’s Kumite Student Gold Medal -61 kg.
  5. Tashal Hafish, Legal Studies 2022, won the Men’s U21 Kumite Gold Medal -84 kg.
  6. Qurrotul ‘Ainirrizqi, Legal Studies 2023, won the Gold Medal in the Senior Women’s Team Kata, the Women’s Individual Kata Student Gold Medal, and the Senior Women’s Individual Kata Silver Medal.
  7. Rizkiando Charlos, Legal Studies 2022, won Gold Medal Kumite -84 kg Senior Men and Men’s Kumite Student Silver Medal -84 kg.
  8. Zafira Anggraini, Legal Studies 2022, won the Gold Medal Team’s Kata Senior Women and the Women’s U21 Individual Kata Bronze Medal.
  9. Qeeshan Satria, Legal Studies 2023, won the Gold Medal for Men’s Kumite Student -75 kg and Bronze Medal for Kumite -84 kg U21 Men.

Dean of the Faculty of Law Undip, Prof. Dr. Retno Saraswati, S.H., M.Hum. expressed gratitude and pride for this achievement. “Alhamdulillah, thank God for the proud achievements of UKM-F Martial Arts of the Faculty of Law. Hopefully, this achievement can inspire and motivate other students to be more creative and enthusiastic in learning, developing themselves, and honing their skills, as well as being motivated to take part in other prestigious competitions,” said Prof. Retno.

Prof. Retno also hopes that this achievement can motivate other Undip’s law students to contribute their achievements and make the name of the alma mater, homeland and nation proud.
