Diponegoro University’s (Undip) family grieved the passing of Prof. Dr.rer.nat. Ir. Thomas Triadi Putranto, S.T., M.Eng., IPU, ASEAN Eng., the Professor of Geological Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering Undip. The leader and Undip academic community gave the final honor at the funeral ceremony on Tuesday, February 27th, 2024, at 12.00 WIB at SA-MWA Building, Undip, Tembalang.
The Rector of Undip, Prof. Dr. Yos Johan Utama, S.H., M. Hum. is the Inspector of the Funeral Ceremony. Prof. Yos addressed his profound grief at the passing of Prof. Dr.rer.nat. Ir. Thomas Triadi Putranto, S.T., M.Eng., IPU, ASEAN Eng.
“We express our condolences to the family and apologize if there were things that Prof. Thomas disliked during the visitation. We pray for the family to be faithful and patient in accepting God’s will. Today, we will take him to reconcile with God,” said Prof. Yos.
“The passing of Prof. Thomas is a loss for Undip. His life as a professor has taught us many virtues and lessons. He taught valuable knowledge to his students and completed practical studies for human beings, ” he continued.
In 2016, he accepted a Satya Lancana Karya Satya X Tahun Award from The President of Indonesia and won Pekalongan Regional Leading Research in 2020. Furthermore, in 2021, Prof. Thomas was selected as the Head of the Geological Engineering Department, Faculty of Engineering, Undip.
On September 7th, 2023, Prof. Thomas was appointed as the professor with expertise in hydrogeology. In his inauguration ceremony as Undip Professor, he gave a scientific speech titled “The Condition and Recommendation of Groundwater Management Environmentally Friendly in Semarang.”
“We have a common obligation to continue Prof. Thomas’s ambitions and ideas that he has prospered his whole life,” said Prof. Yos.
