Inaugurating New Officials, UNDIP Rector Advises to Work with Passion and Happiness

The Oath-Taking and Inauguration Ceremony for Officials within Diponegoro University was held on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, at 10:00 AM WIB in the Prof. Soedarto SH Building, UNDIP Tembalang. The ceremony was led by the Rector of Diponegoro University, Prof. Dr. Suharnomo, S.E., M.Si., and attended by UNDIP leaders along with the newly inaugurated officials.

Accompanied by clergies of religions in Indonesia, the UNDIP Rector led the oath-taking ceremony to the inaugurated officials. The event continued with the reading and signing of the Oath of Office Minutes and Integrity Pact, as well as the signing of the Handover Minutes and the Submission of the Final Position Memorandum.

The UNDIP Rector inaugurated the Vice Rectors and other officials within Diponegoro University based on Rector’s Decree Numbers: 34/UN7.A/KP/V/2024 to 45/UN7.A/KP/V/2024 concerning the Dismissal and Appointment of Vice Rectors, Deans and Vice Deans, Heads and Deputy Heads of Departments, Deputy Heads of Institutions, Directors and Deputy Directors, Head of Internal Audit Unit, Heads and Deputy Heads of Offices, Heads of Technical Implementing Units, Department Chairs, Program Chairs, Section Heads, and Subsection Supervisors within Diponegoro University.

For the 2024-2029 term, the following individuals were inaugurated into key roles within Diponegoro University: Prof. Dr.rer.nat. Heru Susanto, S.T., M.M., M.T. as Vice Rector for Academic and Student Affairs; Dr. Warsito Kawedar, S.E., M.Si., Akt. as Vice Rector for Resources; Prof. Dr. Adian Fatchur Rochim, S.T., M.T. as Vice Rector for Communication and Business; and Wijayanto, S.IP., M.Si., Ph.D. as Vice Rector for Research and Innovation.

In his speech, Prof. Dr. Suharnomo, S.E., M.Si., as the Rector of UNDIP, expressed gratitude to God Almighty for all the blessings that have allowed UNDIP to remain sustainable to this day.

Prof. Suharnomo mentioned that in work, there are always unpleasant aspects, so we need to find our own happiness. “What makes people perform better? Internal motivation. Challenging work, do it passionately and try to love it. If you’re not happy in your work, you end up just fulfilling obligations,” he said.

“Legacy is paramount; leave an important impression. Our presence should make a noticeable difference. Let us pursue benefits. Seeing a happy community can be an act of charity and motivate us to be better. Let’s strive to be the best in Asia, in both research and teaching,” urged Prof. Suharnomo.

Concluding his speech, the UNDIP Rector imparted powerful advice to all officials, lecturers, and administrative staff, urging them to maintain their enthusiasm in working, discussing, and executing plans. “Remember, everything is judged based on performance, do your best!” (Titis – Public Relations)
