On Wednesday, June 5, 2024, PT Jaya Obayashi, a renowned construction company resulting from Indonesian-Japanese collaboration, held a Mini Workshop at the Faculty of Engineering, Diponegoro University (UNDIP). The event took place at the Engineering Hall, on the 5th floor of the Prof. Ir. Eko Budihardjo, M.Sc Building, Faculty of Engineering UNDIP.
The Dean of the Faculty of Engineering UNDIP, Prof. Dr. Jamari, S.T, M.T., warmly welcomed PT Jaya Obayashi to the Faculty of Engineering and expressed his delight that PT Jaya Obayashi continues to trust the Faculty of Engineering UNDIP as one of its partners. “We at the Faculty of Engineering UNDIP are very pleased with the event offered by PT Jaya Obayashi; it is truly extraordinary,” said Prof. Jamari.
Prof Jamari added that although the current offer focuses on careers in the Data Center field, he encouraged students from other departments within the Faculty of Engineering to seize opportunities to pursue careers in various fields, including Information Technology (IT).
“This offer (data center) indeed leans towards IT. However, for those of you who are not in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering, do not worry. Many examples in the field show that many engineers from any department can switch to the IT field. So, you don’t have to be from IT; you can also from civil engineers or mechanical engineers,” said Prof. Jamari.
Handrinal, Manager of Construction at PT Jaya Obayashi, stated that PT Jaya Obayashi aims to provide opportunities for Faculty of Engineering students to grow within the company and contribute more significantly to Indonesia. “We have been given the opportunity by PT Jaya Obayashi to grow and develop, providing a greater contribution to Indonesia. Today, PT Jaya Obayashi is at Diponegoro University to offer opportunities to all of you who wish to develop yourselves and work at PT Jaya Obayashi,” Handrinal explained.
During the workshop, several key figures from PT Jaya Obayashi shared materials and experiences related to careers at PT Jaya Obayashi, particularly in the Data field. Rina Ambarwati, HR & GA Manager of PT Jaya Obayashi, discussed scholarship and work opportunities for UNDIP Engineering students in Japan. Meanwhile, Tatsuhiko Miyashita, General Manager of Mechanical & Electrical at PT Jaya Obayashi, spoke about the future of data science and the significant career opportunities in the Data Center at PT Jaya Obayashi.
PT Jaya Obayashi has been a partner of the Faculty of Engineering UNDIP since 2023. Last year, PT Jaya Obayashi also held a similar workshop at the Faculty of Engineering UNDIP. This year, with the theme “Inspiring Young Leaders in Sustainable Developments,” PT Jaya Obayashi invited Faculty of Engineering students to learn more about scholarship opportunities from PT Jaya Obayashi, recruitment opportunities, and careers in the Data Center.
The workshop aims to increase the number of UNDIP Engineering graduates who can pursue careers in data or construction with PT Jaya Obayashi.
