The Rector of Diponegoro University (UNDIP), Prof. Dr. Suharnomo, S.E., M.Si., and the Rector of Muhammadiyah University Semarang (UNIMUS), Prof. Dr. H. Masrukhi, M.Pd., signed a Memorandum of Understanding on the Development of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education on Wednesday, July 3, 2024. The signing took place at the UNDIP Indoor Tennis Court. The event concluded with a friendly tennis match between the leadership teams of UNDIP and UNIMUS.
In his speech, UNDIP Rector Prof. Dr. Suharnomo, S.E., M.Si., expressed his appreciation for UNIMUS’s achievements and hoped that this collaboration with UNIMUS would create new benefits for both parties. “We do not want to be an ivory tower; we want to be useful,” he said.
According to him, UNDIP’s collaborations with various parties aim to provide the broadest possible benefits. He also mentioned plans for programs to reduce extreme poverty and to make Central Java a national food supply center.
UNIMUS Rector Prof. Dr. H. Masrukhi, M.Pd., stated that with the signing of this Memorandum of Understanding, UNDIP could continue to guide UNIMUS in developing the university. “We are currently making improvements. In October, we aim to achieve an Excellent Institutional Accreditation,” he added.
The Memorandum of Understanding, which is valid for five years, is anticipated to bring significant benefits to both universities and enhance their contributions to the wider community, especially in Central Java. (Sahila-Public Relation)
